Over the past two years, Battlefield developer DICE has teased the fan base with several Easter Eggs for a possible Battlefield 2143 game. The first one was rather tiny, a simple “2143″ stenciled on a box on one of the maps (Wake Island, if you must know).
Now they’ve teased us yet again with Battlefield 2143. The latest Easter Egg, which you can find in the video below, shows a tiny futuristic space ship that looks a lot like those found in the old BF2142. It looks like a mashup of the Titan ships with one of the gunships and drop-ships. Is this a sign that we’re getting Battlefield 2143 as the next game in the series?
Well, apparently not, according to DICE. Back last year, general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson said that they “feel comfortable” with Battlefield 4 remaining in a modern setting.
So what’s the deal with all the Easter Eggs? Are the guys at DICE just messing with us? Or perhaps they’re just throwing out bits of nostalgia at the BF2142 fans. Who happen to be some of the most die hard Battlefield fans ever. 2142 was released just a year after the groundbreaking Battlefield 2, and quickly established a major fan base of its own.
They’ve already confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be set in modern day, which is good if you’re looking to sell a lot of copies and compete with Call Of Duty. But down the line, we’d really like to get back to the future with the Battlefield series. Hopefully 2143 is something they have on the drawing board. Battlefield 4 is currently in development and scheduled for release later this year on current and next-gen platforms. And the PC of course.
Check out the video with the latest teaser below. It’s found on the “Operation Riverside” map, at the very top left corner behind a small hill. But the only way to find the Easter Egg is if you’re playing the Capture The Flag mode.

I believe there is a container in Noshar Canals with 2143 on it as well.
