Iphone nintendo

Concept artist and designer Fabio Basile created this amazing looking Nintendo accessory concept for the iPhone, which adds physical buttons to the iPhone with a touch of NES nostalgia. He’s trying to get this off the ground and make it reality, with a Kickstarter project in the making in order to raise the funds.

We know there are plenty of gaming accessories for the iPhone and iPod touch, but this one actually looks cool and might be worth buying.

Infinity Blade 2
You don’t have to be the developer of Angry Birds to rake in some serious dough in the mobile game space: Epic Games, developers of the Infinity Blade series for the iPhone and iPad, have announced that the franchise has generated $30 million in sales so far. That’s quite a feat, considering Infinity Blade only retails for $7 bucks on the iOS store. The latest version, Infinity Blade 2, topped $5 million in revenue in just one month. Of course, it helps that the title is the most stunning game currently available on iPhone and iPad — it’s something that tends to drive up sales on any platform.

Hitman Profession
We’re already anticipating the 5th installment in the Hitman series, called Hitman: Absolution. However, according to a new trademark filing in Europe, developer IO Interactive is looking to trademark “Hitman: Profession“. This could possibly be the next installment in the series, after Absolution is released next year. However, it could also be a spin-off, possibly a mobile game. Or perhaps it could be something completely different: a book, comic book, etc. Let the speculation begin!

Nintendo has long been one of the most successful video game companies on the market. This success can easily be seen with the Nintendo Wii which took a large lead over Microsof’ts Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3. However, Nintendo isn’t looking to ride on the success of the Wii forever as they’ve already come forth to announce the Wii U and release the Nintendo 3DS.

While the Wii U won’t be out for quite some time the Nintendo 3DS has been on the market for quite some time. Unfortunately though, the 3D display touting portable hasn’t given Nintendo the same success they’ve seen with previous releases like the Wii and Nintendo DS. Due to this, NIntendo came forth not too long ago to announce that they would be dropping the price tag of the Nintendo 3DS.

To make the deal even sweeter, Walmart has come forth today to let us know that they are stocking the Nintendo 3DS for just $169.99. Now, you may be thinking: “isn’t this the same price drop that Nintendo announced not too long ago?”. Yes, but the official Nintendo price cut wasn’t set to go into effect until August 12th. Check out Walmart’s listing for the discounted portable here.

Well folks E3 is underway and you know what that means – a ton of new announcements from every major name within the gaming industry. One of the biggest announcements to come out of Sony is the announcement of the PlayStation Vita. Before you get too excited thinking this is a PlayStation 4 make note that the Vita is simply the official name of the PSP’s successor previously known as the NGP. For those looking for a bit more background into the Vita naming, according to Sony it means Life in Latin. Now that we’ve got that out of the way let us dive into what the Vita actually offers.

If you weren’t paying attention back when the NGP was announced the PlayStation Vita features a 5-inch OLED multitouch display with 960 x 544 resolution, a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a rear touch pad, front/rear facing cameras, dual analog sticks, a d-pad and the rest of the controls you’d expect to see on a Sony console. However, the specs aren’t the only tings Sony made official today as they have also come forth to give us the official pricing scheme for the PlayStation Vita.

Originally many thought the NGP would be priced well over $400 but that isn’t the case. Instead, Sony has let us know that the WiFi-only model will run $249.99 while the 3G enabled model complete with AT&T connectivity will run $299.99. No solid word on when the Vita will actually hit the streets but we’ll keep you posted.

Many say that mobile platforms will eventually get so popular that dedicated mobile consoles such as the Nintendo 3DS and Sony PSP just won’t be able to compete. While we haven’t seen this put into full effect just yet many different mobile software developers are doing what they can to help this along. PopCap is one developer who has many different titles available for the various mobile platforms including Apple’s iOS which powers the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

One of their more popular games, Plants vs. Zombies, has managed to impress both in terms of gameplay and sales numbers but it doesn’t look as if PopCap is looking to slow up with the game just yet. Just today, PopCap sent out a message via Twitter letting us know that Plants vs. Zombies will be coming to the Android mobile platform at some point in the next couple of months.

Seeing how Android has grown to be one of the most used mobile platforms this is sure to boost sales of the game dramatically. We’ll have to wait and see how things turn on.

The Nintendo 3DS has received some good reviews pretty much across the board but Nintendo isn’t done with the handheld yet – not by a long shot. In fact, many different exclusive titles are set to hit store shelves for the 3DS that are sure to give retro and new age gamers alike quite a bit of fun. As you’re sure to know Ocarina of Time 3DS is just over the horizon but Starfox 64 3DS is on its way as well.

While we haven’t heard too much about the game, that’s sure to change as its release date grows ever closer. The latest round of information we have on the game comes straight from Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata who says the game will utilize the 3DS’ built-in gyroscope to fly the Arwing. While this may seem cool, the problem here is that when you tilt the 3DS it loses its 3D capabilities as the glasses-free 3D display has a very specific viewing angle.

Hopefully they will allow gamers the ability to utilize the joystick instead of the gyroscope as if not many gamers are sure to be angered.

As you’re sure to know there is a ton of hype surrounding the various smartphone platforms with many suggesting they will eventually phase out dedicated mobile consoles. Despite this, the manufacturers behind these dedicated mobile consoles are pressing on as usual releasing their offerings to the market.

As you’re sure to  know one of the most recent of such consoles to hit the market is the glasses-free 3D display touting Nintendo 3DS. This device features the same general form factor as its predecessor the Nintendo DS but adds in a thumb stick, 3D cameras and of course the aforementioned 3D display.

There has been some analyst speculation as to how many different consoles Nintendo has pushed to date but the company has been quite when it comes to releasing official numbers. Luckily, it was just noted today that the Nintendo 3DS has officially sold 3.61 million worldwide since its initial launch in Japan since February 26th of this year.

Of course, these numbers are no where near the Nintendo DS’ sales numbers but that’s sure to change as time goes on.

The Nintendo 3DS is finally available on the market after quite some time of anticipation. However, seeing how the console has only just been released it’s going to be some time before there is a vibrant game library to support the console. Luckily, Nintendo has some exclusives planned for the near future including an Ocarina of Time remake and even a Super Mario Bros 3DS title. However, it seems that Shigeru Miyamoto wasn’t hoping for an Ocarina of Time remake above all else but instead a remake of an older Zelda title – one I’m sure that quite a few of you are very familiar with.

Miyamoto recently went on record as saying the following when asked what he’d like to see remade:

“I think A Link To The Past.

I don’t know about you but I grew up on A Link To The Past on the SNES and still regard it as one of my favorite games of all time. Seeing it remade on the Nintendo 3DS would be nothing short of a dream come true.
