Concept artist and designer Fabio Basile created this amazing looking Nintendo accessory concept for the iPhone, which adds physical buttons to the iPhone with a touch of NES nostalgia. He’s trying to get this off the ground and make it reality, with a Kickstarter project in the making in order to raise the funds.
We know there are plenty of gaming accessories for the iPhone and iPod touch, but this one actually looks cool and might be worth buying.

3D displays are getting quite a bit of buzz lately thanks to their inclusion in just about every piece of technology that sees fit. In the gaming world the Nintendo 3DS has largely popularized the technology thanks to its glasses-free 3D display and if you’ve played with one you’ll know that the results are quite stunning. But, wouldn’t it be nice if you could just whip up a peripheral that would give any display glasses-free 3D capabilities? It seems that perhaps there has as Big Head Games has just announced a clear film that, when applied to a device like an iPad or iPhone, makes for a glasses-free 3D effect.
Unfortunately there isn’t more information about this peripheral but here’s to hoping it isn’t an April Fool’s Joke.

The Wii has seen some pretty ridiculous accessories in the past but I think this one takes the cake. What you see above is the CTA Soft-football for Wii, a Wiimote accessory that will obviously be used for football games.
There’s no word on when this will drop or at what price point but honestly, do you even care?

The Wii is unique in that the control schemes for different titles goes far beyond which button does what- the game you’re playing determines which way you hold the controller. You can point like a lightgun, swing it like a tennis racket or tilt it side to side to steer around sharp turns. At the console’s launch some peripheral manufacturers put out some attachments for the Wiimote designed to look like tennis rackets, baseball bats and golf clubs, intended to make the Wii Sports experience feel more authentic.
I had plenty of good chuckles to myself every time I spied one of these sets in a store, but it seems not everyone was laughing- some were actually buying them. They must have been, because Nitho has announced they’re releasing a line of similar add-ons designed to fit with the Wii MotionPlus add-on. I can definitely understand the overall need for a lightgun, since it makes aiming for shooting games easier, but did we really need more fake sports equipment bits? They do offer a charging dock as well, but is it that difficult to pop the Wii MotionPlus off before you charge your battery packs?
A statement from the VP of sales and marketing in the US said that the company “focus{es} on innovation from the very beginning of the development cycle,” and that they “try to anticipate emerging market trends”. I’m not sure how well you’re doing claiming innovation at the same time you’re offering a ‘new’ product that’s essentially already been on the market for some time. The emerging trend they’re talking about? The fact that unsavvy parents and grandparents will buy some of these silly items for their children/grandchildren.
In case you have the urge to get 8x optical zoom with your DSi, Nyko has a solution with their upcoming Zoom Case. The case itself offers protection from surface scratches, but the main idea is to have a budging zoom lens flying out of your “portable” system.
The camera itself is detachable so it doesn’t render your DSi to look permanently ugly, but one has to question what Nyko was thinking when they created this contraption. Nyko’s Zoom Case will hit American retailers later this year from $20-$40.

In case you didn’t want to shell out the ridiculous amount of money Microsoft is trying to charge for an upgraded Xbox 360 harddrive, Datel has given you a nice alternative.
Pictured above is Datel’s MAX Memory card for the Xbox 360 that allows users to expand the 2GB or 4GB capacity via its microSD/SDHC slot. Are these cards a hacker’s dream come true? I mean you can fit an entire Xbox 360 game on an SD card now a days.
Either or, these cards will start at around $40 when they hit shelves at an undisclosed date.

The above peripheral may look like nothing more than a peice of plastic to the untrained eye. However, to avid Nintendo DSi users, Thrustmaster’s T-Standee Charger could prove to be a handy add-on.
The above pictured stand, entitled the T-Standee Charger, is a secure docking station that allows users to view their DSi from a horizontal or vertical position all while charging the devicce.
The T-Standee Charger is expected to sell for €12.99 with no word on when we’ll be seeing this thing statside. Then again, you can probably find something that serves the exact same purpose with a little bit of searching.
