While many gamers are still flocking to their local retailers to get down on the latest titles, digital distribution outlets are becoming quite popular. On the PC, the most popular digital distribution service is none other than Valve’s Steam. The beauty of services like this is that it’s so easy for developers to cut us gamers a deal on some of their hottest titles. In fact, it seems that just about every week Valve is temporarily dropping the price tag of some of the hottest games. This week seems to be no different.
The reason I say this is because it was just made known that for a limited time both BioShock and BioShock 2 are priced at just $4.99 a piece. Unfortunately it seems that the deal is today only so if you’re considering doing it, I’d suggest doing it now. I mean, it’s only $10 for both of them, right?
GameInformer’s upcoming issue is all about BioShock Infinite, arguably the biggest game of 2012. If you like the new, retro magazine cover (and we sure do), inspired by paintings of the likes of Norman Rockwell and J.C. Leyendecker, you’ll be happy to know that you can obtain said covers as posters.
The double-side posters measure 24″ x 28″ and will cost you $10. One side features Elizabeth and Him — her hulking guardian — on one side, while the other features Charles, both of whom are intricate characters of BioShock Infinite. Honestly, the more we see of this game, the more we want it.
As for the posters, you can order them here ($10).
Everyone is eagerly awaiting the upcoming BioShock Infinite, which is scheduled for release about a year from now, in 2012. BioShock Infinite creative director Ken Levine, and one of the heads of Irrational Games, has come out and said that they plan no support for PlayStation Move motion controls, saying that they “never want to throw in Move support just because it’s going to make some first party happy.” Zing!
However, Levine stated that they won’t rule out the possibility of having 3D support for Infinite — a feature that would certainly please Sony and a lot of PC gamers who have invested into 3D technology. Honestly, we really don’t care about motion controls and 3D, as long as BioShock Infinite story and gameplay is as awesome as it was in the original BioShock.
Unfortunately, we have to wait a whole year until we can play the game. And that’s if the game isn’t delayed. And it better no be
When BioShock fist came out, PC and Xbox 360 gamers enjoyed the new-age shooter, but PS3 owners had to wait a full year before playing the game, and even then, it was just a port, with lots of glitches and errors. Now Irrational Games has confirmed that they’re doing the PS3 version in-house, and that it will be up to par with the PC and Xbox 360 counterparts. BioShock Infinite is set for a release on 2012.
2K Games has revealed that they have no plans of bringing any of the BioShock 2 DLC on the PC, which might disappoint some PC gamers. The two DLCs released on consoles so far, “Protector Trials” and “Minerva’s Den”, have been expected to find their way on the PC, but now 2K revealed that those plans have been scrapped, citing technical issues. It’s not that big of a deal, since neither of the DLC is a must have and offers something beyond the usual experience.
Irrational Games is getting back to BioShock after stepping aside for BioShock 2. Their upcoming title, BioShock Infinite moves away from the depths of the ocean and into the sky, and for the first time, we get a glimpse of the gameplay in the latest GT TV episode.
2K games has released the latest BioShock 2 DLC, called “Minerva’s Den”, which includes three new levels in the main campaign, however, players do not need to complete the main campaign in order to play the levels, as the run parallel to the main campaign. The DLC costs $10 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
2K Games has confirmed that the “Protector Trials” DLC has been delayed on the PC, and no new date has been given. The DLC was supposed to be released with the Xbox 360 and PS3 version. The DLC offers new single player missions and will retail for $5.
