Darksiders book
Darksiders 2 is almost upon us and for those craving even more from the Darksiders world, THQ has announced that you’ll be able to sink your teeth into an upcoming novel based on the universe. The novel, called Darksiders: The Abomination Vault, is written by Ari Marmell and is a prequel to the games. The novel will be out in May.

Guild Wars 2‘s release date is still a ways off but if you’re looking to get your fix, there are other ways coming soon. It was recently announced that a novel based in the Guild Wars is being written and will be released soon.

The title is called Ghosts of Ascalon and is being penned by Jeff Grubb and Matt Forbeck and will prepare gamers for the second title. It’s set hundreds of years after the original Guild Wars in the same era as Guild Wars 2.

Ghosts of Ascalon will be released on European and North American shores sometime this summer.

Sci-fi and fantasy book publisher Tor Books has announced that they will release a BioShock book — which will reportedly run 400 pages — later this Fall, as a possible tie-in with the release of BioShock 2.

Tor Book has previously published books based on game content, including Perfect Dark, Dragon Age and Halo. They also plan to publish a book after the EVE MMO, called EVE: The Burning Life, later this year.

What would a game be now-a-days if pre-orderers didn’t get some sort of bonus? It would probably be fine, but Activision evidentally didn’t want to take the chance.

It was recently announced that those who pre-order Prototype from GameStop will recieve Alex Mercer (the game’s main character) in action figure form and a map/poster.

Those who pre-order it from GameGrazy will recieve a hardcover book that includes different illustrations based on ingame characters, enemies, and locations.

And finally, those who pre-order Prototype from Amazon will receieve an exclusive comic based on the game put together by Wild Storm.

Considering the success of The Elder Scrolls series, it only make sense that some novels set in the universe be released, right? Bethesda sure thinks so, recently announcing that they have teamed with Del Rey Books to produce a series of novels baring The Elder Scrolls branding.

The first novel in the series entitled The Infernal, written by bestselling author Greg Keyes, will take place after The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion:

Floating high above the land is a strange and mysterious city that is casting a horrifying shadow – wherever it falls, people die and rise again as undead. It is up to an unlikely duo – a seventeen-year-old girl named Annaig and the Emperor’s young son, Prince Attrebus – to rescue the kingdom from doom.

It was recently made known that the book form of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is set for a November 24th street date.

The author of the book, Raymond Benson, was also behind the book form of the first Metal Gear Solid along with, as Kotaku notes, 6 James Bond “continuation novels”.

If you want to gaurantee yourself a copy you can head over to Amazon.com now and pre-order the book for $11.20. Metal Gear Solid enthusiasts won’t want to miss this one.
