Gearbox has finally revealed the Game of The Year edition of Borderlands, which includes all four DLC packs released so far, bringing you an extra 10 or so hours of gameplay, all for the same price of $50 on PC, or $60 on the Xbox 360 and PS3. ON top of that, Gearbox plans to release one more piece of DLC this year, wrapping up an impressive feat for Borderlands. Sequel, here we come!
Gearbox’ shooter Borderlands has received three pieces of DLC since it was released almost a year ago. Now the DLC, which usually retails at $10 a piece, has been discounted to half price on Xbox Live, in case you’re looking for some more cell-shaded action. The offer is only for next week.
Gearbox has announced the third piece of DLC for Borderlands, called “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx”, which will, according to Gearbox, will have “never before seen content and enemies and brand new missions”. New weapons and items will be available as well, and the level cap will be raised as well.
Gearbox has confirmed that Borderlands will include a series of downloadable content packs, much like Fallout 3, the first of which will be called “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned”, which will retail for $10. The DLC centers around a “Dr. Ned”, who’s island of workers turns into zombies, and it’s the player’s objective to fight alongside Ned and find a cure. The DLC is set for release later this year.
