With the announcement of the Sony NGP comes a whole new rivalry between that and the Nintendo 3DS. While some speculate the 3DS will win hands down, the NGP is definitely a device to keep an eye on due to its top notch hardware. Of course, until both of them are on the market for some time we won’t actually know how they will stand the test of time.

Regardless, some users over at DeviantArt have put together their very own Zelda themed Nintendo 3DS bundle which you can see above. While this of course isn’t official, it definitely gives us something to look forward to as Zelda rules and so will the Nintendo 3DS.

What kind of Nintendo 3DS bundles would you like to see?

supermariogalaxy2

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is shaping up to be quite the amazing game and today Nintendo has been kind enough to give us a look at the box art. As you can see, it features Mario, Yoshi and everything else you would expect from your typical Mario world. Of course, it has the whole interplanetary Super Mario Galaxy theme thrown in because it is a Galaxy game, over all.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be out on May 23rd exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.

Sony has today given us a look at the official box art for MLB 10 The Show which we’ve included for you above. Not only that, but they’ve also let us know that the game will be made available on March 2nd.

And, of course, they’ve thrown in a pretty extensive list of all of the new features to be included in the game:

  • HR Derby – The Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Futures Game are now available during the All-Star break in our season modes and as a stand-alone experience.
  • Catcher Calling the Game – Call pitches and play as the field general, just like Joe Mauer.
  • Online Gameplay Improved – This year the online gameplay experience has been vastly improved and will detect and respond better to adverse network conditions along with reduced bandwidth to help the speed and flow of online gameplay.
  • User Controlled Pick-Offs – Surprise a base runner with a quick move or lull him to sleep with our new pick-off mechanism.
  • Custom Music, Fan Yells, and Chants – Assign music or a recording to an entire team, edit tracks to assign batter walk-up music, or record your own voice and assign it to play for the team or player during the situation of your choice.
  • Movie Maker – Select up to ten replays to add to a single movie and do all the editing for your own highlight reel.
  • New Stadiums – Five new Minor League stadiums as well as classic parks including Forbes Field, Crosley Field, Polo Grounds, Shibe Park, Sportsman Park, and Griffith Stadium.
  • New Fielding/Pitching Training Modes and Practice Drills – New pitching and fielding training sessions will be part of our Road to The Show training suite.
  • Road to The Show Version 4.0 – New option settings (Game Watch and Game Completion) allow users to set how much of the game they wish to view, our mistake tracking system and new Green Light system reward and penalize good play, and our new stat tracking system keeps stats for your player’s career versus every pitcher or batter faced during the current season that can be accessed at any time.
  • Full Online Season Leagues – Fully functional online season leagues, save and display MLB Player stats, track player energy, allow for trades/injuries, and offer 40-man roster functionality.
  • Weekly Live Roster – An updated live roster will be available every week throughout the entire season.
  • Online Game History – View every game you’ve ever played online, complete with opponents, box scores, and game logs.
  • 1-30 Player Season Modes – Control one or all 30 teams right from the start of your franchise or season.
  • New Camera System – The most realistic camera system available will make you double take and make sure you’re not watching a live MLB telecast.
  • Real-Time Presentations – More than 1,250 new gameplay animations, more than 1,000 new presentation animations, and more than 400 personalized pitcher and batter animations.
  • Stadium Realism and Experience – Details, details, details! MLB 10 The Show offers daytime transitional lighting, shows all players on field in
real-time (including players in the dugout and bullpen), and offers improved stadium ambiance with HR/splash counters, fireworks, steam,
noisemakers, towels, thunder sticks, working digital and analog clocks, crowd reaching over the rails, and crowd detail, such as interaction
with vendors and placing K signs.

Square Enix has today uploaded the official box art for Final Fantasy XIII to their e-store which we have pictured for you above. Of course, it’s pretty small and ridiculously un entertaining but it is the official box art and that means something, right?

It’s expected that the North American box art will look the same as the above one is for the Japanese market but we won’t know until FFXIII actually makes its way onto store shelves for the Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in 2010.

The bundle is reportedly hitting store shelves this fall for $39.99 and will not require gamers to own the original GTA IV game.

Anyways, what you see above is the recently released official box art for the bundle for you to feast your eyes on.

It seems that the guys over at Destructoid got their hands on the official box art for Activision’s upcoming DJ Hero.

The above art will evidentally find its way onto the cover of the DJ Hero + turntable controller bundle. Other than that, there’s not much we don’t know; 94 originial mixes including Jay-Z, Daft Punk, 50 Cent, etc.

However, if you notice in the bottom right hand corner the Guitar Hero logo is prominentaly displayed, but why? Well, most likely because Activision wants buyers to know that the game is from the same makers of the much more popular Guitar Hero franchise.

Back in May we heard that Capcom was gearing up to launch the official soundtrack for the Wii title Spyborgs but we didn’t hear much of the game since.

Well today, Capcom has told us that the Bionic Games developed Spyborgs will hit North American shelves for the Nintendo Wii on September 29th of this year.

Additionally, Capcom was nice enough to give us a glimpse of the box art, pictured above.

Ubisoft has recently gone ahead and released the official box art for their upcoming title Assassin’s Creed 2.

As you can tell, the box art is very similiar to that of the original game, let’s just hope the gameplay is a bit different. While the game was generally well receieved by critics, the main gripe gamers had with the game was that the gameplay was somewhat repetitive decreasing the game’s replay value.

Regardless of your opinion on the original Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft is gearing up to launch Assassin’s Creed 2 on November 19th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

The traditional unveiling of a game’s box art always happens when the community has stopped buzzing about a game. It does make sense, publishers want more hype etc. But anyways — Activision is proud to show off the box art for their upcoming Guitar Hero 5.

So yeah, check out the box art above and prepare for its September 1st release date on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii.

Any bets on how long Activision will continue the Guitar Hero franchise until the community grows tired? I have my money on at least Guitar Hero 15.

The fight for the Stanley Cup is over and the Penguins have been crowned the champions so it would only make sense that a player the winning team would grace the cover of 2K Sports’ upcoming NHL 2K10, or at least a player from the competing Red Wings, right?

Apparently not as 2K Sports has recently come forth and revealed that the Washington Capitol’s left winger Alex Ovechkin will take the honors. Below is Ovechkin’s acceptance statement:

It’s an incredible honor, and I look forward to working with 2K Sports to make NHL 2K10 the most fun and amazing hockey video game experience ever. I can’t wait to put some of my moves in there.

Sure 2K Sports has done a good job in the past with their NHL series but will NHL 2K10 be enough to thwart NHL 10? Only it’s September release date for the Wii, PS3, PS2 and Xbox 360 will tell.
