Modern Warfare 2′s release is right around the corner, but Infinity Ward is still updating Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
The 1.40 patch focuses on eliminating the recent hacking issues for the PlayStation 3. No official patch notes have been released yet. Unfortunately, the patch is currently only out for North America; a European release has yet to be scheduled.
Modern Warfare 2 will be out on November 10th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Call of Duty 4 has reached a massive milestone: ten (10!) million unique users have played the game on Xbox 360 alone. Infinity War revealed the news, alongside some other interesting statistics:
71.1%, or 7,111,508 people have completed F.N.G.
68.8%, or 6,886,509 people have completed Cargo Ship.
46.5%, or 5,654,643 people have beaten the game on any difficulty.
2.8%, or 283,632 people have completed Airplane on Veteran difficulty.
According to IAMfourzerotwo.com, PSN numbers indicate somewhere around 4,3 million unique players, combined with the PC sales as well, CoD 4 has sold 15 million copies to date. Impressive!
Speaking at the company’s Analyst Day, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that 60 percent of Call of Duty 4 owners play the game online.
It marks a rise in the number of multiplayer gamers; the growth can be credited to the easy availability of broadband connections that have enabled faster ping times and a smoother online experience. The game debuted at number four in the Xbox Live Top 10 Activity list and hasn’t left the list since.
Call of Duty 4 may be the most popular game in the franchise by now, selling over 10 million copies worldwide on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Its developers – Infinity Ward – is currently developing the sixth installment.
