Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is one of the most popular video game consoles on the market but it is not without its gripes. As you’re sure to know the infamous red ring of death plagued earlier versions of the console which had gamers sending their console for repair only to wait several weeks before hearing anything. Luckily, things have evened out but, to some, the controller is still not perfect.

Luckily, Razer has been developing a controller for some time dubbed the Onzo that includes a more ergonomic design, improved D-pad, 2 programmable buttons and an extra long 15-foot cable. Coming in two different versions a standard version and Tournament edition the Onza is available for pre-order now at $39.99 and $49.99, respectively. There aren’t too many differences between the two as the Tournament edition features a rubberized design for additional grip while the standard version only features a textured grip – everything else is the same.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 home video game console is one of the most popular right up there with the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3. Of course, that’s no secret but the success of the recently released Kinect motion controller may be much less known. Many doubted that the Kinect would catch on while wondering how consumers would react to the fact that it is a completely controllerless set-up. Well, it seems that the Kinect is proving itself to be a hit as word has just gotten out that Microsoft has already sold 8 million units in just 60 days on the market.

With only a launch line up of games currently available, it’s going to be interesting to see how Kinect matures overtime. With the motion sensing 3D camera, the possibilities are virtually endless so it’s up to game developers to really make the platform shine.

We just got telling you about a new game from Ubisoft that will exclusively use motion controlling dubbed Fit in Six. Now, Sony has come forth to show off a brand new controller attachment for the Playstation Move dubbed the Playstation Move Sharp Shooter.

As you can see from the above picture, this is essentially a hunk of plastic that players can clip the Playstation Movie into effectively turning the controller into a gun. There’s no telling exactly what games this will be used for but out best guess would point toward a game like SOCOM or Killzone 3. Of course, paying $39.99 for an accessory like this has never been my favorite thing in the world but if it’s your cup of tea it will be hitting store shelves this February.

The big, clunky steering wheel controllers have had their days, and now above all just seem gimmicky, with the vast majority of players opting for the simple, game pad controls for racing games.

However, peripheral maker HKS has unveiled what is undoubtedly an awesome controller for racing fans. For starters, the analog stick is replaced by a thumb-wheel which offers precise and simple steering, while the X and Square buttons are pressure-sensitive for the accelerator and brake. It even has an LCD speedometer readout on it!

It cannot possibly get any better than this, and it should be a perfect fit for the upcoming Gran Turismo 5. So far the controller will only be available for the PS3, and will be retail later this summer for $50.

Peripheral maker Mad Catz has teamed up with Activision to create a series of Call of Duty branded controllers. Called “Black Ops PrecisionAIM controllers”, they don’t look much different from their PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts, but at least they cost the same — $50. The new controllers will launch in November.

Tired of using your Gamecube controller for next generation titles? Well Nintendo has just announced something for you. Previously available only overseas, the Wii Classic Controller Pro (pictured above) is now available for purchase here in the United States.

The controllers are priced at $19.99 and will (obviously) not be compatible with any games that require any kind of motion. You’re going to have to stick to your trusty Wiimote for that.

There have been countless third party manufactered Xbox 360 controllers on the market but it seems that Microsoft is unhappy with Datel’s Turbofire controller, in partiular. This unlicensed turbo controller apparantly came a bit too close to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controller which has cuased the company to sue Datel.

Microsoft is seeking both monetary compensation and an injuction to prevent Datel from producing anymore controllers.

What do you guys this? If you were Microsoft, would you sue them over this controller?

Just in case the normal Wii Classic Conroller wasn’t cool enough for you Nintendo has announced that the Wii Class Controller Pro will be made available in the United States this Spring.

The design of the controller looks curiously similar to that of the Playstation’s and will retail for $20. Unfortunately, the same problem that kept me from buying the regular controller remains the same; you have to plug it into the Wiimote. Now I understand Nintendo may be cutting costs not putting a wireless module in the controller and instead utilizing the Wiimote’s but come on, it’s just annoying.

Normally when an accessory manufacturer releases a gun peripheral for any console it works through light detection. This new gun peripheral by XCM called Fire is quite different and is only compatible for the PS3. Why? Well, because it uses the same SIXAXIS technology found in the Dual Shock 3 controllers.

In other words, it senses motion like the Wii controller which will definitely make some of you cower in fear. However, based on the above video demonstration its functionality doesn’t look half bad.

No word on when the gun will be ready for consumers but it’s apparently 70% done so far.
