One of the surprising PS3 hits, which appeared to come out of nowhere, is Demon Souls, one of the hardest games we’ve ever played on our PS3. The game received notorious status as a difficult game, and it led to some wonderful sales for developer From Software.

The sequel was revealed at least years Tokyo Game Show, but we’ve now gotten an official name: Dark Souls. The game will be published by Namco Bandai, and will be just as difficult according to the developer, only this time, it’ll be out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.

It seems that Atlus decided to announce that their upcoming PS3 exclusive Demon Souls would be hitting store shelves on October 6th, 2009.

Futhermore, they have also announced that for $69.99 you will be able to pick up the Deluxe Edition which includes a 150-page exclusive strategy guide. However, if you pre-order the game (Deluxe or not) you will be able to get a Demon Souls art book.

Common Atlus, couldn’t we have at least gotten a little demon figurine or something, too?
