In hopes that it will boost sales, Nintendo has added new colors to the DS line, and more importantly, lowered prices in Japan and the UK. A DS Lite in the UK was lowered from £150 to £130, with a similar price cut in Japan (and is expected in the US as well). As for the colors, well, you can get blue, yellow and green. Not exactly the most vivid colors in the world, but we’ll take it wiht the price cut.

Sure, the Nintendo DS Lite may not be the latest and greatest Nintendo DS on the market (hell, it’s certainly no Nintendo 3DS) but if you’re looking to get down on the DS movement, we have a great deal for you. Slickdeals has just notified us that Dell Home is holding a promotion that will allow you to pick up a Nintendo DS Lite in Cobalt/Black or Crimson/Black for just $99 with free shipping.

Compared to prices on Amazon.com that’s a savings from about $20 – $30. Not bad. Check it out here.

Educational games on the Nintendo DS are nothing new, which is no surprise that the British are now getting a game that’ll help them practice on their written driving test. According to the publisher of the game, 40% of those who take the written test in the UK fail, which is where the game comes in.

It features all of the official 1256 driving test questions, and offers a free driving lesson to everyone who picks up a copy of the game, titled: Pass Your Driving Theory Test, and retails for 20 GBP.

Then again, who doesn’t already have a DS?
