The skateboarding genre has long been the same with yearly installments of Activision’s Tony Hawk Pro Skater changing only miniscule things. However, when EA finally pushed out Skate, the genre was never the same again. Thanks to a new and innovative control scheme, Skate made gamers feel like they were actually skateboarding with ultra realistic gameplay and a fun and immersive storyline.
On the snowboarding side of things, the same can be said with all releases being quite similar. However, if recent rumors are to be believed, the snowboarding genre may be literally getting the Skate treatment. These rumorts say that a brand new SSX titles is being developed by EA Canada with “much of the Skate team” in attendance.
Of course, this is just a rumor at this point but domains have been registered that point to a new title being dubbed SSX: Deadly Descent and/or SSX: First Descent.
It seem’s that EA has decided to break the speculation regarding the Fight Night Round 4 lineup and has gone ahead and released information on all but 1 Heavyweight boxers that will be in the game.
As provided by EA Sports the Heavyweight roster for Fight Night Round 4 is as follows:
- Muhammad Ali - Eddie Chambers - George Foreman - Joe Frazier - Lennox Lewis - James Toney - Mike Tyson
What about that last “fighter to be revealed in the upcoming weeks”? Who might that be?

If you didn’t know, EA gave everyonea chance to vote on who they wanted on the cover Fight Night Round 4, Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson, at www.AliorTyson.com.
Well, it seems that the ballots were just too close to pick a winner so EA decided to slap both boxing titans onto the cover, pictured above.
Tyson had this to say about the decision:
“I’m honored to be on the cover of Fight Night Round 4 with Ali. He was a special champ, and I have the highest respect for him as a person and a fighter. People always ask me if I think I would have beaten Ali if I had the chance to fight him when we were both in our prime. Now you can figure it out for yourselves. Fight Night puts you right in that ring and gives you the gloves to settle the score.”
Fight Night Round 4 is currently under development over at EA Canada and is expected to ship for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer.
