Turn 10 and Microsoft announced that the third and biggest installment in the Forza franchise, Forza 3, has surpassed 1 million games sold in its first month. Microsoft proudly revealed that Forza gamers have spent more than 6.6 million hours in online play across more than 64 million matches and that to total mileage driven amounts to a whopping 590 million miles.
The company also announced a new 10-car DLC “Hot Holidays” which will retail for $5 and include cars such as the Ferrari 599XX, Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss, Ferrari 458 Italia, among others.

Microsoft and Turn 10 aren’t keen on folks waiting by GameStop or BestBuy (or eBay) to get a used copy of the upcoming Forza Motorsport 3, usually coming at a discount. To combat that sort of “cheapness”, they’re offering an exclusive DLC to those who buy the game new on launch day, as opposed to used. The DLC will include a bunch of classic cars, from the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage (the original 007 car) to the 65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, among other classics. A great incentive to increase launch sales, but we can’t help but feel with the folks who’d buy used, especially during these tight economic times.

Ferarri’s newest flagship car, the 458 Italia, which will be replacing the very successful F430, will find its way to Forza Motorsport in form of a DLC update. Since Ferrari revealed the car long after Forza 3 development wrapped up, it won’t make it in the release — the game has already gone gold.
However, developer Turn 10 is currently modeling the car, which will be released as a DLC after the game launches. There has been no announcement on a price, but you can certainly expect it not to be free. It was recently revealed that Gran Turismo 5 will also feature the new Ferrari car.
Limited Edition games are nothing new, especially when it comes to highly anticipated ones, like Forza Motorsport 3.
Microsoft has revealed that a Limited Edition Forza 3 will be released, which will include the game, a 2 GB Forza 3 branded USB key chain, several exclusive in-game cars, a dashboard theme and a “VIP Membership” to the Forza 3 online community. The Limited Edition will be priced at a hefty $80, $20 more than the standard edition when it comes out this September.

It seems that Forza 3 still has some surprises up its sleeves, despite over a hundred tracks and 400 cars shipping on 2 DVDs, Microsoft has confirmed that Forza 3 will also include the popular and prestigious Le Mans race track, including the 24 hour multi-class racing mode.
Things are certainly looking interesting for Xbox 360 petrol heads. Forza 3 drops this September.

Turn 10 seems to be very impressed by their upcoming racing sim Forza 3. While they mentioned the game as the “ultimate racing sim of this generation” at E3 — despite the fact that neither Forza 3 or arch rival Gran Turismo 5 have been released — Turn 10′s Dan Greenwalt said that the Gran Turismo developers have “passed the baton” to Turn 10, and that they now have the definitive racing simulator. We’ll see when both games are on the market and can be compared equally. Forza 3 is slated for released this October.
Turn 10 was present at the Microsoft conference, and they finally (!) unveiled and confirmed Forza 3. Turn 10′s Dan Greenwalt called Forza 3 “the definitive racing game of this generation” — despite the fact that Gran Turismo 5 still isn’t out. Nevertheless, Forza features the same customization options as Forza 2, plus over 400 cars from 50 manufacturers and an all new graphics engine to show case it. It’s shipping this October.
Will Turn 10 and Microsoft just announce Forza 3 already? The game has been proved in development over a year ago, and recent leaks suggest that the game will be released later this year.
This time, the German version of Amazon, amazon.de, lists a game guide for Forza 3, and has a release date of September 30, which means you can pretty much count on the game being released at that date. Forza 3 will reportedly be on two discs, and feature over 400 cars and 100 tracks.
Coming as no surprise, Xbox 360 Fanboy reports of leaked assets for Forza Motorsport 3, the third entry in the racing simulation franchise that has done well for Microsoft over the years, that reveal something very interesting: in-game race posters.
Apparently, Microsoft Game Studios has sub-contracted Kaarbo Designs to create menu graphics for the game; the in-game race posters were posted on the company’s website and were promptly removed before being saved by Internet detectives. In response, Kaarbo has said that the posters “are only samples and are not to be used.”
Even then, the posters are sleek as hell! The game looks to be becoming quite the monster, with rumors noting that the DVD format has become an issue. It supposedly features over 400 cars and 100 tracks and will likely ship on two separate discs. Forza 3 is expected to be shown at this year’s E3.
