GameHi has launched the pre-open beta test for their first-person-shooter Sudden Attack today. This beta phase isn’t to be confused with closed beta or open beta, but instead a middle ground in between the two.
Along with the beta, a few events have also been launched. For example, if you play for a certain amount of hours, you receive an in-game weapon.
Sudden Attack is a free-to-play game which is mostly popular in South Korea, but has since been localized to the United States and Singapore. I’ve played the game, and I honestly think it’s a lot of fun for a free game and has a lot of potential. The game is still in its beta stages, so there’s still room for improvement. You can download the game over at the official website.

Battlefield Heroes was only recently unleashed onto the public and already EA and DICE are announcing that the game officially has over 1 million players. The game’s success could probably in part be attributed to the fact that it’s free to play. Of course, if you want to customize your characters in any way you’ll have to fork over some cash as the game’s business model is completely based around micro-transactions.
General Manager of the Battlefield Heroes team, Ben Cousins, commented on the game’s early success:
“The team is really proud to have hit 1 million registrations at this early stage. Creating a character and gameplay experience that is totally yours is what sets this game apart – your hero can be anything from a bazooka-toting pirate, a grenade-throwing ninja or even a mime assassin!”

To stand out in the MMORPG market, developers have to make compromises and do things other developers aren’t willing to do. The guys behind Dungeons and Dragons Online decided to re release their game as a free to play MMORPG called Dungeons and Dragons Online: Unlimited.
As for a release date, it was announced today that Dungeons and Dragons Online: Unlimited will be made available for play on August 6th.

Atlus Online has just announced that their free-to-play MMORPG Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent has officialy gone live.
The game’s beta apparantly went live back in May which recieved generally good feedback. To celebrate the game’s launch, Atlus will be holding both screenshot and national anthem contest which have you sending in the coolest screenshot you can grab and writing and reciting a national anthem for one of the games nations.

Having been released as a closed beta back in February, Sony has decided to finally take the wraps off of their free MMO Free Realms — It was recently announced that Free Realms will be leaving its beta stage and be released to the public tomorrow, April 28th
Free Realms is a different kind of MMO, focusing on exploration, mini-games, and pet training (among other things) instead of hand to hand combat. Of course, it includes hand to hand combat but Kotaku reports it is completely optional.
This unqiue approach makes Free Realms a good experience for young and old gamers alike.

Sony recently announced to the public that their free MMO, Free Realms, has entered a closed beta and is available now.
Just head over to the game’s official website and register to be a beta tester. There’s no gaurantee that you’ll be granted access though, with an open beta coming at a later date.
Free Realms is currently under development for the PS3 and PC by Sony Online Entertainment. The PC version is set to hit in April with a PS3 version coming at a later date.
