Just a few days ago, Valve opened the curtains and let us know that Portal 2 was officially on its way. Today, thanks to GameInformer, we now have some more details regarding the title. First and foremost, Valve has said that Portal 2 is to take place hundreds of years after the original and was developed by a team 3 times bigger than the first. This was added to the fact that Portal 2 will be seeing a Mac release which will come as a relief to many OS X gamers.

Next, they have said that a co-op mode will in fact be included, as we heard before, that will have players using two different robots. The iconic portal gun will reman the same but physics will be heavily implemented into the new title. This includes things such as suction vents and what valve is calling ‘paint’ that will allow players to create bouncy surfaces.

Valve’s senior project manager, Erik Johnson, gives us his insight into the game:

“It’s worth clarifying our approach to Portal. It’s less about putting a portal on the wall and walking through it and more about making people think differently while they are playing the game. And making people feel smart while they are playing the game. And really surprising people with this kind of a video game. We’re not aiming to make this an action or twitch game — that seems way off track. There are many more elements that we are adding to Portal 2 — it’s a bigger game and stands on its own — but it isn’t about making a really hard game. It’s more interesting to simply reward your thinking.”

That’s about it for now, we’ll keep you posted on an official release date.

So far, all we’ve seen out of Bungie regarding Halo: Reach has been a few trailers and some artwork. From the online community, we’ve seen much more including leaked screen shots. Today, it was made known that GameInformer put up what is believed to be Halo: Reach’s background art before proceeding to pull it.

Now, it’s not confirmed that this will be the actual background art confirmed in the game but still, it’s nice to see some leaked content every once in a while.

If buzz circulating the internet is to be believed, what you are looking at above may very well be the main character featured in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 2 when it drops sometime next year.

The image was apparently grabbed from Ubisoft’s forums shortly before being pulled, but who is he? Well, Joystiq reports that included in leaked copies of next month’s Game Informer are more details regarding the mysterious hooded figure.

Ezio Auditore de Firenze, is his name, a nobleman from Florence in 1476. Leaked news also includes talks of swimming and gliding machines. We’ll have to wait until the next GameInformer actually comes out to fill in the blanks.
