Microsoft has announced that they plan on resurrecting dead and forgotten Xbox Live Gamertags, but Microsoft being Microsoft, there’s always a little fee: $10 if you want to change your Gamertag or use one of the resurrected ones.

Microsoft will offer the resurrected Gamertags as they come available, resurrected from players who haven’t used them in years, players who have left Xbox Live altogether.

It seems that a bill currently under review over at the Texas House of Representatives may potentially require sex offenders to make their online game usernames known.

This of course would help protect other gamers from falling victim to a sex offender disguised from an otherwise unmarked online username.

GamePolitics reports that this bill came to existence due to the increasing number of pedophile arrests where the offender met their victim over an online service.

I feel this is a great because it could only serve to further protect those who choose to game online. What do you think?
