Tiger Woods may be dropping sponsors left and right but EA Sports has stuck with him. Many have wondered if the company would drop him in favor of another golfer but it seems that they are pressing on with their Tiger Woods PGA Tour series going on to announce that the next title in the series, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: Masters, will be hitting store shelves for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii on March 29th.
What’s interesting to note from the above box art is the fact that Masters is much more highlighted than Tiger Woods’ name. Could this be the first step towards the phasing out of Mr. Woods from EA Sports highly successful golf game? We’ll have to wait and see.

If you’ve checked out just about any major media outlet you’ll without a doubt know the huge fiasco that led to Tiger Woods taking quite the break from professional golfing. While he was one the greatest golfer in the world, he has strayed from this title with a dismal performance since his return to the game. This lackluster play has led many to wonder if EA will drop Tiger Woods from their popular line up of golfing games and instead head alternate routes.
Well, while EA has long said that Tiger Woods is here to stay, some new reports have surfaced today that may say otherwise. Below EA CEO John Riccitiello comments:
“We have no plans to move away from [Tiger Woods], but it’s a business relationship on the basis of we make the best golf game and he’s the best golfer. Both of those things need to be true in the long run for the partnership to make sense.”
While this is true that it wouldn’t really make sense to put his name on a video game if he wasn’t the best, who else would they put? Sure, other golfers are winning tournaments but unless you follow golf, can you name another golfer? The only other golfer I can name is Arnold Palmer and that’s because his drink is godly.
On another note, the amount of pressure that is resting on Tiger Woods’ back must be tremendous. Then again, the dude’s rich as hell so does it really matter to him?

Tiger Woods has been through lots of controversy over the past few months, and he’s lost a lot of sponsorship deals as a result of it. EA however, is sticking with the golfer, and have announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which will be released in June 2010.

EA has recently gone ahead and announced a new play-in-your-browser game entitled Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. No, this won’t be an MMO based around golf but instead a regular run of the mill golf game that you play in a web browser.
There isn’t news much in terms of gameplay but EA let us know that courses like St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, and TPC Sawgrass will be featured.
Tiger Wood PGA Tour Online is apparantly scheduled to launch sometime in the fall with subscription based pricing. However, if you want to get in on the action early you can sign up for the beta here.

While we’ve unofficially known about this game ever since it was announced to support Wii’s MotionPlus technology, EA went ahead and took the invisible cover off the game.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is said to include the US Open, and a USGA championship along with real-time weather. And when we say real-time we really mean real time, the game has the ability to monitor current real-life weather conditions and depict them in the game.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 will be out for pretty much every console you can think of sometime this year.
