The entire Killzone franchise has done quite well for itself despite remaining exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation 3. The latest game, Killzone 3, in particular has managed to become one of the best looking games ever to be released for a home video game console. However, just because the game has received some critical acclaim since it was released does not mean it’s perfect. In fact, those who play Killzone 3 online will know that despite being on the market for quite some time it has not yet received the ability to support custom multiplayer games.

Luckily, Guerilla Games has just come forth today to let us know that they will be releasing a brand new patch for the game at some tomorrow (April 5th) bringing with it custom games. Of course, that’s not all that’s being included in the past as a whole slew of bug fixes, PlayStation Move tweaks and more will also be brought to the game.

Check out the full list of updates courtesy of the game’s official website after the break.

While the Xbox 360 has the Halo franchise as their FPS exclusive, the PlayStation 3 has Killzone. Currently on the third iteration, the Killzone franchise has been known to have some stunning visuals in addition to incorporating the latest technologies such as PlayStation Move and 3D display technology.

Well, Guerilla Games has just come forth to announce the Steel Rain map pack for the game. Included in this map pack are two brand new maps including the 16-play Junkyard and 24-player Stahl Arms. Unfortunately there was no mention of a release date or price point for Steel Rain but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Internet piracy is becoming more and more of a problem for just about every company involved in selling digital goods including the music industry, movie industry and, unfortunately, the video game industry. If you’ve been paying attention the most recent big name leak came in the form of Crysis 2 when an early build of the game found its way onto some high profile torrent sites.

Today, another similar leak has surfaced this time in the form of Killzone 3. That’s right, a beta build of one of Sony’s biggest games has been leaked and is now available for download on torrent sites. While you’ve probably already made up your mind over whether or not you’re going to download it, a high profile leak like this is sure to attract a lot of attention from Sony meaning this most likely isn’t the safest thing to download.

Not only that, but illegally downloading a game prior to its release probably isn’t the best way to support a game studio.

Guerilla Games’ Killzone franchise is one of the hardest hitting exclusives that the Playstation 3 has. Killzone 2 had some bugs here and there but was received generally well and applauded for its hard hitting graphics and amusing gameplay. Well, Killzone 3 is just over the horizon and looks to bring gamers things like 3D graphics and more.

If you’re picking up Killzone 3, you’ll be happt o know that a beta for Zipper Interactive’s Socom 4 is being bundled with the game. There’s no telling exactly what will be included in the Socom 4 beta but considering the game is largely multiplayer based it’d be safe to assume that it will definitely include that.

Killzone 3 will be hitting store shelves exclusively for the PS3 on February 22nd.

Hot on the heels of the Gears of War 3 release date rumor, a Killzone 3 release date rumor has risen. What’s interesting about this rumor is that is says Guerilla Games is planning to go head-to-head with Gears of War 3 and will release Killzone 3 also in April 2011.

What adds even more heat to this fire is the fact that rumors have already been circulating that Killzone 3 will be both 3D and able to use Playstation Move. If these are true, it may be what will give Killzone 3 the edge over Gears.

One of the biggest trends that the entertainment industry is moving towards is 3D. Going to the movie theaters and watching stuff pop out at you never ceases to amaze me. However, what if instead you could enjoy 3D video games in the comfort of your own home? Some might think this would take forever to catch on but recent rumors suggest that Killzone 3 will not only be in 3D but will also feature the Playstation Motion Controller.

Of course there is still no word from Sony or Guerilla Games but the source that told CVG seems pretty sure that Killzone 3 will drop this holiday season with both 3D and motion controlling.

With the release of Killzone 2, Guerilla Games hoped it would be to the PS3 what Halo is to the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, the game was plagued with problems and it failed to be what its developers hoped it would be.

Well, now their sights are set on Killzone 3 and rumors have just surfaced that the game will utilize 3D technology in addition to the Playstation Motion Controller. If this is true, Killzone 3 may be the baddest game on the market. Until other developers pick the technology up, of course.

Killzone 3 has yet to be officially confirmed but considering the hype surrounding Killzone 2, it’s pretty much a no brainer that Guerilla Games would go on to release a sequel. Well, those looking to soak up every bit of information about the continuation of the Killzone franchise will be happy to hear that the Official PlayStation Magazine has went on record as saying that details of the game will be coming soon.

But that’s not all as OPM has also said that the game could potentially see a reveal at this year’s E3 if development goes as planned.

Killzone 2 only just hit store shelves earlier this year and just now reports are coming to light that says Killzone 3 is already in development.

News comes to us from the Official Playstation Magazine who says Killzone 3 is to be one of Guerilla Games‘ secret projects for 2010 and is under heavy development over at the studio.

Just how much stock should you put into this report? Well, the Official Playstation Magazine is pretty credible considering the obvious but Killzone 2 took 4 years to get onto store shelves so I think it’s safe to say we will be seeing a delay, or two.

Last week we were given the first look at Killzone 2‘s forthcoming Napalm & Cordite DLC pack. Today, we have now know that said DLC pack will be headed to the PSN next Thursday, July 23rd.

For those who haven’t been paying attention, this pack will include the Suljeva Cliffside and Arctown Landing multiplayer maps along with VC1 Flamethrower and Boltgun 440 weapons, also for multiplayer use.

Unfortunately, it was also made known that the new weapons will only be useable on the maps included in the pack. Bummer.
