If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that both the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition and Prestige Edition comes with a token for a digital download the original Call of Duty (now called Call of Duty: Classic).

Well, it looks like those who want just Call of Duty 1 and not Modern Warfare 2 have some time to wait as Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward has commented on the classic’s public availability:

“Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first. It’ll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game.”

That could mean days or possibly even months after Modern Warfare 2 is released. Alternatively, you can just hop on Amazon.com and purchase the original PC game for under $12. Now that’s a bargain!

Earlier today we gave you a glimpse at what the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition will look like when it’s made available on November 10th. However, we were left without a price point for the NVG touting bundle.

Well we now know that the lesser special edition, the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition, will sell for $80. Considering all that you’ll get with the Hardened Edition is a steel case, art book and Call of Duty 1 XBL/PSN download token, you can get an idea of comparison.

Is anyone out there still going to purchase the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition even if it costs $150? What about $200? Knowing Activision, it’s likely to be up there.
