Japan may have gotten hit with a very bad earthquake and tsunami but at least there are a lot of lucky gamers that have their Nintendo 3DS to turn to. While the console doesn’t launch here in the United States until the 27th, Japanese folks have been enjoying it since the 26th of last month. While the handheld console managed to sell quite a few units on launch date, the hype seems to be continuing.
According to reports, Nintendo has managed to push an additional 200,00 units in its first full week on the market. In total, this puts Japanese 3DS sales right around the 400,000 mark – 374,764, to be exact.
Now all we have to do is wait and see how the Nintendo 3DS sells here in the United States to compare. I know I’ll be getting one, will you?

The United States sure does love its video games but Japan is arguably the video game capital of the world. Not only has the country spawned iconic game companies like Sony and Nintendo, but sales numbers continue to impress in terms of both hardware and software. The latest such noteworthy set of sales numbers focuses on an unlikely candidate: the Sony PSP.
While the PSP has all but been forgetten here in the US thanks to new mobile platforms like Android and iOS, the portable console is doing quite well over in Japan. In fact, just this past week it seems that PSP sales have increased from 75,689 to an amazing 326,639, but why? Well, the main reason for this is the bundle that had the PSP and Monster Hunter Portable the 3rd living together in harmony.
Now lets just see if sales numbers are the same here.

Now before you get too excited about Capcom releasing an Xbox 360 exclusive, make note that there has been no official word regarding what this means which means it could mean pretty much anything. Anyways, the above image has appeared on the Japanese Xbox website that reads Capcom x Microsoft.
With an educated guess, one would assume that Capcom and Microsoft are collaborating to create an Xbox 360 exclusive (as stated in the corner). Like mentioned previously, there is no telling if this is a Japanese only announcement or what but we’ll keep you posted.

Just in case Square Enix’s forthcoming Final Fantasy XIII wasn’t enough for you, we recently learned that Nippon Ichi’s Last Rebellion would be North American store shelves for the PS3 sometime next month.
As for European RPG fans, you will be stuck waiting until March 12th to get your hands on Last Rebellion.

Atlus has recently secured the publishing rights for Kenka Bancho 3, a PSP title that follows a high school student in Japan brawling with, well, everything. Sounds great, right?
It is, but Atlus doesn’t know what to name the US version of the game and has looked to the community for help. The publisher has set up a website, here, that will let visitors choose what they want to game
Of course, it’s only a survery so the chance that you’ll directly influence the game’s US name are slim.

If you’ve ever played the arcade game Pop’n Music you’ll know that more than half the fun is smacking the different colored buttons in conjunction with the on screen happenings.
Well, Konami has just announced a Wii version Pop’n Music and unfortunately, it’s nothing like its arcade counterpart. Instead of smacking multi colored buttons you will be moving the Nunchuk and Wii Mote “up, down, left and right”.
Yup, the game’s been childified. If you still want to get your hands on this sure-to-be dissapointing version of Pop’n Music you can do so this fall.
