Valve is definitely one of the more iconic game developers due to their hard hitting franchises like Half-Life, Counter-Strike and many more. They are also a developer that has been known to listen to the community even collaborating with them on future products.

One example of this is the Cold Stream DLC pack for Left 4 Dead 2 created by community modder Matthew Lourdelet. Included in this DLC pack is a whole slew of new gameplay sure to extend the life of Left 4 Dead 2 which was released way back in November on 2009.

If you want to get your hands on the Cold Stream DLC pack early you’ll be happy to hear that it was just released in beta form for both he PC and Mac versions of the game. Of course, seeing how it’s a beta, expect some bugs and if you do happen to come across them Valve asks you to please report them.

We just got done telling you that Valve would not be including PS3 Move support with Portal 2 so you may be a bit discouraged. If you are, there’s some good news coming out of the company today too in the form of a DLC pack announcement for the critically acclaimed Left 4 Dead 2. While there doesn’t seem to be a specific name for this new pack it will feature the three remaining campaigns from Left 4 Dead 2 and will feature ‘Cold Stre’am – a campaign developed by community modder Matthew Lourdelet.

Unfortunately there was no price date pinned with this announcement with Valve only saying it will be out “when it’s ready”.

We’ll keep you posted with any further news.

Valve has released a new Left 4 Dead 2 game mode for “The Passing” DLC. Called “Last man on earth”, it’s exactly what it sounds like: a single-player mode where the player assumes the role of the last man on earth, and must deal with a lot of zombies. On your own.

The best thing about having a game with online capabilities is the fact that you can play with your friends. However, if your friends aren’t around (or you don’t have any) bots are the next best thing. Previously, Left 4 Dead 2 did not feature bots but Valve has continously said that they will bring them to the game soon enough. And do that they have with their latest update which also includes a few tweaks to the game’s SDK, which you probably don’t care about unless your a developer.

Additionally, Valve let us know that a similar patch for the Xbox 360 is in the works and should be ready soon.
