If you’ve been trying to hop on the PlayStation Network to grab some frags in Black Ops you may have noticed that the entire network is down. Don’t worry, this isn’t your home Internet connection going down the drain. Instead, it’s Sony taking the PlayStation Network down for some maintenance which was set to last for 11 hours. Luckily, it seems that the network has since gone back up as the maintenance as said to have ended at 7:00PM PST.

So folks, what did you do when the PlayStation Network was done? Whip out the Gameboy, hop on Xbox Live or, dare I say it, go outside?

Hitting the shelves for the Xbox 360 and PC on March 2nd of last ear, EA’s Battlefield Bad Company 2 has been received generally well by critics across the board selling over 5 million units since launch. While the game’s story line is certainly no laughing matter it’s the game’s online multiplayer that has us coming back for more. However, if you’re one who can’t go a day without getting their Bad Company 2 fix, you may want to sit down for this one.

EA has just notified us that they will be having some scheduled downtime for Bad Company 2 on the Xbox 360 starting today, February 7th.

Luckily, it doesn’t seem as if things are too serious and if everything goes according to plan you should be back online fragging before you know it

Major Nelson has recently reported on his official blog that the Xbox Live service will be down for up to 24 hours starting on Tuesday, June 16th at 12:01 AM PST. This downtime includes the ‘My Xbox’ portion of Xbox.com along with making it impossible for users to post on the Xbox forums.

This window of downtime will give Microsoft the chance to prep the service for the new Xbox Live features that were announced at this year’s E3. Those features include Last.fm, Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm and more.

However, please make note that you will not gain access to these features once Xbox Live goes back up as they will not officially go live until later this year.

Sony has sent out a notice that some parts of their online service, the PlayStation Network will be down for maintenance. The notice says that it is regularly scheduled maintenance but there’s probably a little more to it. Of course the official notice apologizes for any inconvenience, but I’m guessing the recent exploits allowing users to put their own content onto the servers for Home might be fixed when things back up.
