Ahh, the good old days when FPS games took place in huge locations with dozens of rooms, where you were running around for hours, chasing keycards and what not. Today games are a lot more linear, like the Call of Duty campaigns, where you basically move down one, single path. Of course, we also have open world games like Crysis, where you decide where you wanna go. But we still miss the good ol’ days. Via Reddit.

We just told you about the Halo movie but perhaps you want to hear something that is actually coming soon? Well, IGN has just put up a feature that showcases the 4 maps that are to appear in the Halo: Reach beta which is launching on May 3rd. These maps are entitled Sword Base and Power House, which will be great for Slayer, Headhunter, Overlook, which will utilize the Generator Defense/NT 1 gametype and finally Boneyard which is a “great landscape custom built for Invasion”.

Not long ago, we reported that the new Killzone 2 DLC would be hitting the PlayStation Network today. The DLC, titled Napalm & Cordite, includes Suljeva Cliffside and Arctown Landing multiplayer maps.

It also turns out that a new Map Pack will also be seeing release today, featuring six multiplayer maps from every DLC released so far; Steel & Titanium, Flash & Thunder and Napalm & Cordite. As for true Killzone fans who already have the DLC, the map pack doesn’t have anything you already don’t have.

The Map Pack Bundle retails for $11.99 in the States and £9.99 for Europe.

Yesterday, a PS3 trophy list was uncovered that showed new content coming to Guerilla’s Killzone 2. Today, we have an official announcement coming straight from the Playstation Blog: a DLC pack entitled Napalm & Cordite.

This pack will include both the flamethrower and boltgun, along with the maps Suljeva Cliffside and Arctower landing, just as the trophy list had suggested.

Furthermore, the pack will update Killzone 2 to version 1.28 which brings all sorts of bug fixes and the like. You can check the full list of changes includes in said version after the break.

More information is to be released about the DLC pack next week.

World in Conflict On Massgate.net is word that “Arizona” and “Valley” are two maps being primed for release for World in Conflict. These are the two maps that won the recent official map contest.

No release date was given, though it was mentioned that they will be playable soon on the game’s official servers. The two map-makers – Slepnryl and Gozeus – apparently impressed the developers with a well-balance Tug of War map and using “stunning” DX10 effects for their maps.
