When Halo 3 first came out, you were pretty much forced to play customs if you wanted an MLG experience. Now, there is an MLG matchmaking playlist which answered the cries of much of the gaming community. Today is Monday, but this past Saturday Halo 3‘s 1 billionth game was played by a lucky group of people.
Bungie details said billionth game was a 3 minute 19 second Infection game on Foundry between 4 people. They then go on to announce that 2,023,153,340,764 seconds of Halo 3 matchmaking has been played. Thats over 64,000 years of playtime.
And to put this amazing achievement into perspective, the hugely popular Halo 2 hasn’t even had 1 billion games played, and that was released in 2004, Halo 3 was released in 2007. Amazing.

Has anyone else noticed that matchmaking for Gears of War 2 still takes painstakingly long, even after the recently released patch?
It seem’s we aren’t alone as after several complaints, Epic has issued yet another fix. But this time it’s not client side, they have announced they have tweaked their own servers to allow for faster matches let’s just hope it works this time.
Senior Producer for Gears of War 2, Rod Fergusson, also went on to say that the slow times can’t completely be blamed on Epic. Sometimes there will be a low population in any given playlist, so you’re going to have to wait a bit longer for that.
