Ah, what would it be like without Metal Gear Solid 4 Xbox 360 rumors cropping up everyday? Good for us, but not good for Konami, who has once again denied rumors that the PS3-exclusive title is in the works for the Xbox 360, which was picked up from a quote by its PR rep.

The Japanese story which carried the quote “we are investigating releasing a 360 version” by Konami PR rep Yoshitaka Arai has been silently edited, removing the mention of the game and replacing it with talk of Winning Eleven and Castlevania.

Why doesn’t Konami just admit that they WILL release the game for the 360? I mean, the game had big sales on the PS3, and Xbox 360 won’t be any different. More money for them!

mgs4-tgs-2006-024 Following word from Konami that they are looking into porting Metal Gear Solid 4 to Xbox 360, Microsoft’s Xbox Live boss John Schappert pointed out that the console has enough power to “handle” the game; he also expressed his admiration for Kojima’s “masterpiece.”

“I’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san’s masterpiece come our way,” he said, adding, “It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox. It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way.”

Schappert then pointed out that a lot of other games have shifted over to the Xbox 360 from PS3 and that the console has an “amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power.”
