While Microsoft and Nintendo have happily secured their own exclusives for their respective consoles, Sony is struggling to find their one killer title. However, many have pondered if the Uncharted series is the answer. If you own a PS3 (or have played Uncharted 2) you most definitely know how amazing the series is both graphically and gameplay wise.

However. now that Uncharted 2 has been on store shelves for quite some time, it’s time to begin thinking about Uncharted 3. Well, today, rumors have surfaced from Kotaku that say the newest Uncharted iteration will take place in a desert setting. According to our source, this is the same tipster that let us know there would be an Uncharted 3 trailer during the Spike VGA’s on December 11th.

Would you like it if Uncharted 3 took place in a desert? If not, where would you like it to take place?

Considering the Uncharted franchise is so important to Sony it’s rather strange that we haven’t seen a PSP version of the game. Well, if Naughty Dog‘s co-president Evan Wells has anything to do with it that will all change very soon.

Below he comments:

“I think it would be fantastic to see the game (move) onto a handheld system. Each one of the episodes is sort of like a standalone thing and I think we could do that pretty easily. If we can find a partner to work with, I’d love to do that … we definitely wouldn’t do it ourselves. We’re trying to just focus on the PS3 technology and platform right now. But, if we can’t find a partner, then maybe we’re going to have to find a budget ourselves.”

So, while he doesn’t actually confirm the fact that an Uncharted game is headed to the PSP he does confirm the fact that the studio is definitely thinking about it.

To celebrate the success of Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog has just announced that they will be upgrading their offices after 6 years at their current location.

Their new office will be “less than 500 feet away” from their current location and will give the developers more space to allow for expansion. The move will be finalized on March 1st and will definitely point towards an even brighter future for Naughty Dog as they staff their studio further and work towards another great title.

Read more about the move over at their blog, here.

uncharted2

Need more proof that Uncharted 2 is an amazing game? How about the fact that it’s sold 3.5 million units to date making it the fastest selling first party Playstation 3 game of all time.

Couple that with the fact that the game won pretty much all the award there and received pretty much flawless reviews across the board and you have an obvious conclusion; Uncharted 2 kicks ass, go get it now.

I bet Naughty Dog is over there licking their lips about how much money there is to be made with Uncharted 3, whenever it comes out.

Just in case there wasn’t enough hype already surrounding Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Sony and Naughty Dog have released the above 15 second commercial showcasing the title.

Of course, there isn’t really anything we didn’t already know featured in the video other than a few clips of gameplay but it’s nice to watch anyways, especially if you’re anticipating the game.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will hit store shelves exclusively for the PS3 on October 13th.

uncharted2twitter

A few weeks ago it was made known that Uncharted 2 would feature the ability to update your Twitter feed when you recieved a Trophy, connected to a multiplayer game and more.

In theory, this sounds like a good idea, but someone following an Uncharted 2 fiend would undoubtedly get ridiculous annoyed. Naughty Dog seems to have taken note of this, issuing the below statement:

“Some reviewers have had early access to the game and selected the option to update their Twitter accounts as they completed each chapter of the game. This has resulted in some Twitter feeds being updated multiple times an hour. We obviously want to provide the best experience for everybody, so for the time being we’ve disabled Twitter updates on chapter completions. The option will still exist in the menus when the game ships on 10/13, but if activated, it will do nothing. Some time after the game has shipped, we’ll release a patch to reactivate the feature, but with a limit on the frequency of updates.”

Now here’s an idea — It was recently discovered that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will feature out of the box Twitter compatibility. No, you won’t be able to manually update your Twitter feed from in the game but instead, if you opt for it, the game will send out periodical tweets showing your followers when you have obtained a new Trophy, completed a single-player mission or even connect to a multiplayer game.

This probably isn’t the most exciting feature out there but for you avid Twitter users who feel the need to keep the world updated of your every action, this may be a god send.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will hit store shelves exclusively for the Playstation 3 on October 13th, 2009.
