Despite being an Original Xbox title, Halo 2 still has a strong community supporting it. To them, it was probably terrible news when Microsoft made the announcement that they would be pulling the online plug for Original Xbox titles come April 15th.

On an alternative note, if you recenetly tried to snag some Halo 2 maps from Xbox Live you may have noticed that you are unable to due so. This has lead most of the community to believe that Microsoft is already removing Original Xbox DLC from Xbox Live, leaving some users a big unhappy.

Luckily, Microsoft sent a notice to Joystiq that said this was an error and they are currently working to get the DLC back  up until April 15th. Phew.

Are you still playing Halo 2 online? How about any other Original Xbox title? If so, you better get your last matches in as Microsoft has just announced that they plan to shut down Xbox Live for both the Original Xbox and Original Xbox games. Yes, that includes Halo 2.

The infinite downtime will actually go into effect on April 15th. I’ll have to hop on Halo 2 and relive the good ol’ days sometime before then. Who else is with me?
