PC Gaming Alliance’s board of directors grew by two today, as they announced the addition of representatives from Capcom and The Guildhall.

Capcom is best known for being the publisher of various big-name franchises, including Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Mega Man. The Guildhall, on the other hand, teaches people how to make games at Southern Methodist University.

“Capcom believes strongly in the value and strength of the PC gaming market as a global platform for our entertainment brands,” said Capcom VP Christian Svensson. He added that past PCGA participation has “great improved our understanding of the market… and allowed us to participate in improving the field of PC gaming.”

1677_pcgaming The recently formed PC Gaming Alliance industry consortium has released the first results from its Horizons Report, noting great growth in PC gaming despite what others may have said.

According to the report, the PC gaming industry brought in $10.7 billion in 2007, with sales from digital distribution nearing $2 billion; in-game and web advertising brought in $800 million. Online gaming was hot, bringing in $4.8 billion, almost double to that of retail PC sales.

The study attributed the growth of online revenue to Asia, which accounted for almost half of the total worldwide sales. It noted that this revenue will increase further as more studios embrace online distribution.
