In case you don’t know about Peggle, (and if you don’t, shame on you!), it’s one of the more innovative puzzle games over the past few years. You basically shoot down pegs with your cannon, and each level gives you an X amount of red pegs to shoot down with just ten balls. There’s more to the gameplay, but that’s the essence of it. Peggle has since its release found its way to PC, consoles, cell phones and basically anything else that has a screen and a few buttons.

Peggle Night is not so much a new Peggle game, it’s rather an expansion pack to the regular Peggle also found on Xbox Live Arcade. While we won’t do a complete run-down on all the features — and honestly, we expect you to know about Peggle by now — it’s safe to say that it’s the same good ‘ol Peggle. You have 10 balls, lots of levels, lots of colored pegs to shoot your way through, and most importantly, you have your special power ups, which are given every time you hit a green peg. Peggle is already one of the most popular games on the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms, and today, and the next three days, it’ll be available for only $1. After June 14, it’s back to the normal $5 price point, which is still cheap, considering how cool and addictive Peggle is.

The game was goofy as hell, PopCap’s take on a tower defense game pitting Plants vs. Zombies. Well, this comes as a surprise but PopCap has announced the game to be their fastest-selling game of all time. Yes, even more than Peggle and Bejeweled.

PopCap attributes Plants vs. Zombies‘ success to the unqiue gameplay and ability to hold its value even after the player has progressed through  the story mode.

Good job PopCap, you’ve succeeded at making another casual game to rival the addictiveness of World of Warcrack Warcraft.

You thought that World of Warcraft was addicting enough in its current state? Try this on for size — It was recently announced that PopCap, creator of popular games like Bejeweled, has released an official Peggle add-on for Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.

Yep, you heard me right; Peggle in World of Warcraft, 2 of the arguably most addicting games combined into 1 convenient package.

You’ll apparently be able to face off in Peggle against other World of Warcraft players and use the outcome to determine who can claim loot drops. Don’t worry though, the regular game is there except the stages are based on locations from World of Warcraft.

You can snag the download here.

I’ve talked about a lot of Xbox Live Arcade titles, and I have to admit, out of all the titles I’ve tried so far, I’ve never met one that was so enthusiastic about you winning as Peggle.

A strange sort of action / puzzle hybrid, which, frankly, I love playing, Peggle features you shooting balls at pegs in an attempt to clear a board of orange-colored pegs.  You’ll be able to hit green colored pegs for powerups like guide lines and the ability to light up surrounding pegs, and purple pegs will give you a score bonus.

Completing a level will allow your ball to continue moving, and any other pegs it hits will add to a score multiplier before your ball falls into one of five holes with different value scores.  When your ball finally DOES come to a stop, a cascade of fireworks will burst into life.  All of this is done to the tune of “Ode to Joy”.

See what I mean?  It’s a really over the top victory celebration.  Not that I’m not glad for it, mind you–I had a lot of fun solving this action packed puzzler–but still, if you like your games understated and subtle you won’t like this at all.  Meanwhile, I loved it, and I’ll recommend it freely to anyone else who wants to try.

From MSNBC.com’s Casual Game of The Year award to the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Overall Game of the Year award, Peggle had made quite a name for itself.

Well, it looks like Peggle is looking to make an even bigger name for itself as it was recently announced that it is finally coming to the Xbox Live Arcade.

The game will be available in 2 forms, both digital and physical. The digital version of the game will cost 800 Microsoft Points. The physical version, on the other hand, will ship in a bundle called PopCap Arcade Volume 2 which also includes Feeding Frenzy 2 and Heavy Weapon.

Watch out for Peggle on Xbox towards the end of this month.
