natalprototype

Talks regarding Microsoft‘s highly anticipated Project Natal have been going on for some time now and while we’ve seen what we thought to be a prototype model has been pictured various times. However, the Seattle Times has today shown of what they are saying is the first look at the Project Natal prototype. Now, there’s no telling if this is the actual product that will go into production but let’s hope not because frankly, this thing creeps me out.

In addition, the Seattle Times also gave us news that the Natal device will be built in the same factory that builds the ever-so-popular iPhone. Just in case you wanted to know.

prototypeuniconrn Oh God, my eyes! While we’ve been celebrating independence and freedom through fireworks, groups of artists had been slaving away on a challenge set by the infamous Yahtzee who declared that between Sucker Punch and Radical – makers of infamous and Prototype, respectively – parody the other’s character the best gets to be the winner.

And then eyeballs exploded all over the world.

Cross-dressing was the name of the game, and the results are something that the world has never seen, and should never see. If you have the courage, hit the link for viewing Alex Mercer riding an unicorn and the infamous guy doing Vegas.

What would a game be now-a-days if pre-orderers didn’t get some sort of bonus? It would probably be fine, but Activision evidentally didn’t want to take the chance.

It was recently announced that those who pre-order Prototype from GameStop will recieve Alex Mercer (the game’s main character) in action figure form and a map/poster.

Those who pre-order it from GameGrazy will recieve a hardcover book that includes different illustrations based on ingame characters, enemies, and locations.

And finally, those who pre-order Prototype from Amazon will receieve an exclusive comic based on the game put together by Wild Storm.

So what are you waiting for? You have three option, choose wisely.

Activision today sent out word that Radical Entertainment’s open-world action game Prototype will be shipped to European stores on June 5 and North American stores on June 9.

The game has players donning the role of Alex Mercer, a shape-shifter who goes on a rampage to find out what happened to him. Also, New York is attacked by a virus that created horrible, disgusting mutants.

It is being developed for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. This comes from the same studio as Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which was pretty awesome, to say the least.

spore176 In what is surely an industry first, Maxis has released a number of early prototype games for those interested in the development phase of Spore, the recently released life simulator.

The prototypes range from star formation to simple OpenGL-based creature games.

“One of the ways in which we explore possible design directions is by building simple, playable prototypes that we can play around with to get a sense for a particular system,” reads a statement on the developer’s website. “Usually these prototypes are never seen by the public, but we thought some of the more intrepid players out there might enjoy playing around with a few of our early Spore prototypes.”

Interested users can head over to this page, which also provides a short description for each prototype.
