We love behind the scenes videos on everything, movies, TV shows, and especially, videogames. Developers from Relic here give a few words on their upcoming third person shooter Warhammer 40K Space Marine. Judging from the video, it’s Warhammer 40K meets Gears of War. And that’s one blend of games we’d love to put our money into.

However, don’t expect to be hiding behind cover the whole time, as Relic has said that there won’t be a cover system in the game, instead, it’ll rely more on melee combat that cover based shooting. Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine is scheduled for release this Summer on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

company-of-heroes Continuing the venerable World War II franchise, THQ today announced Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, an upcoming standalone chapter in the strategy series.

In development at Relic Entertainment, it will be a completely standalone game, offering three new single-player campaigns, new multiplayer modes and new maps and units. Interestingly, it will also introduce a “direct-fire” feature, giving players “more tactical control of their units and more strategic options in-game.”

Despite being standalone, it will be compatible with the previous entries in the series, with THQ claiming that it will give gamers “complete access to the epic battles of World War II.”

The game is due out sometime in Spring 2009.
