If you’ve been playing Modern Warfare 2 online you’ve most likely run into the “super-speed” glitch at least once. You know, the one that makes everyone in the party run extremely fast. Well, love it or hate it, the gitch is no more.
Robert Bowling has just let us know that the Xbox 360 playlist update that includes a fix for the hack has just been released for Modern Warfare 2.
I liked the infinite ammo glitch better, anyways.

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has just let us know via his Twitter that Modern Warfare 2 has officially surpassed the 25 million unique players mark. While we don’t have exact numbers, Bowling says that the majority of the players are on Xbox 360 with the PS3 in a “close” second with the PC version in third.
This is a pretty amazing feat and even more reason for Infinity Ward to be working on Modern Warfare 3. If they sort out that mess with Activision, of course.

If you’ve been playing Modern Warfare 2 online (which you probably have) you’ll most likely have noticed the infamous javelin glitch being exploited. Clueless? Well, there’s a glitch that allows you to trigger a massive explosion when you die killing anyone in direct radius. Yeah, that one.
Luckily, the 1.06 patch is in the works to fix that glitch but that is not what this announcement focuses on. Instead, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has let us know (via
twitter) that 1.05 has gone live for the PS3 version of
Modern Warfare 2.
This update focuses souley on matchmaking updates with 1.06 fixing the javelin glitch, car packages and various other things like stated above.
It wasn’t until Halo 2 that the franchise saw the ability to duel wield appear so it would only make sense that Infinity Ward would do the same with Modern Warfare 2. That’s right, you will now be able to duel wield weapons in the highly anticipated title using the Akimbo perk.
The above screen shot was taken at the Games Crazy Con that recently went on in Las Vegas where Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling took the main stage to give us a live demo of the game. Sure, the screen shot is blurry but you can definitely make out duel wielded Desert Eagles if you look close enough.
Not to mention the below Tweet from Bowling’s Twitter:
Just walked off stage. Crowd was amazing, went insane chanting “pick it up!” when I stumbled over Dual-wield Deagles. lol – Akimbo confirmed
Modern Warfare 2 will hit store shelve for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 10th of this year.

If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that both the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition and Prestige Edition comes with a token for a digital download the original Call of Duty (now called Call of Duty: Classic).
Well, it looks like those who want just Call of Duty 1 and not Modern Warfare 2 have some time to wait as Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward has commented on the classic’s public availability:
“Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first. It’ll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game.”
That could mean days or possibly even months after Modern Warfare 2 is released. Alternatively, you can just hop on Amazon.com and purchase the original PC game for under $12. Now that’s a bargain!

Robert Bowling, Community Manager over at Infinity Ward, has recently updated his twitter page letting us know that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Special Edition will in fact be called the Prestige Edition. Those who have played previous Call of Duty games will recognize this term as it is a prominent part of the game’s online play.
Furthermore, Bowling also notified us that sometime this weekend he will post an unboxing revealing the contents of the Prestige Edition. Let’s just hope that it’s something more creative than your run-of-the-mill art book.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on November 10th, 2009.
