If you were looking to expand your already extensive LittleBigPlanet costume library, you’re in luck — Media Molecule has recently announced that inFamous will be the theme of their latest DLC pack.
As you can see, the pack will feature InFamous’ main character Cole McGrath as Sackboy.
When more details along with a price point are announced by Media Molecule we will be sure to keep you updated.
LittleBigPlanet is getting more and more awesome by the minute, as Sony announced that Sackboy versions of Solid Snake and Sephiroth will make appearances in the game. The company also noted that levels made in the ongoing beta will be playable after the game’s October 21 release.
As you can see from the screenshot above, the MGS4 hero and the FF7 villain have been transformed into cute sack figures. It’s kinda unnerving to see a smiling, cute Sephiroth, but damn it’s still cool!
"To be involved with [Metal Gear Solid] is… slightly bizarre. When we were looking at what options as a studio we’d have to work with, they were under the ‘yeah, right!’ category of games," said Alex Evans, co-founder of developer Media Molecule.
Behind every great console, there is a great mascot. Obviously, the most recognizable mascot is Mario, for Nintendo. Microsoft also has a popular mascot in Master Chief, and up until Sony has had several mascots, such as Solid Snake. According to a recent report, however, that’s about to change.
According to Mark Valledor, product marketing manager for the innovative title Little Big Planet, as a part of a marketing push Sony is apparently setting up the image of Sackboy to go hand in hand with the PlayStation 3.
“We want ‘LittleBigPlanet’ to lead the charge into a new genre of gaming and turn Sackboy into the next emblematic character for the PS3. We will continue to see the momentum build throughout the end of this year and on to the next. … This is a very big title for us.”
It is extremely bold for an entire system to place it’s entire public image on a completely new title. However, if there is any new game franchise that can pull it off, Little Big Planet would definitely be the top candidate.
