As apart of a Q&A feature today from Rockstar Games’ official website titled Asked & Answered, the company says a sequel to L.A. Noire is a “possibility.”
The company says, although busy with Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto V at the moment, “don’t count out the possibility of a new game in the L.A. Noire franchise in the future.” They continued:
We’re all very pleased with how that game turned out and are considering what the future may hold for L.A. Noire as a series. We don’t always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually – see Max and Red Dead for evidence of that – we have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing.
While there isn’t any DLC planned for the near future of the game, we’re sure there will be a return of the series, as Rockstar stated themselves, the company definitely gets to their games eventually, as seen with Red Dead and Max Payne.

Of all the different video game companies currently on the market Nintendo arguably has the most timeless classics. In fact, it seems like just about anybody who’s anybody has played their exclusives such as Mario Bros., Zelda and Donkey Kong (among others). Over the years these platforms have changed and evolved alongside the release of new hardware while maintaining the gameplay we’ve all come to know and love.
If you’re a Wii game who sticks by Nintendo exclusive you’ll know that the company recently released Donkey Kong Country Returns – a follow up and reboot of the popular Donkey Kong country series left behind on the Super Nintendo. The game did quite well with millions of copies sold worldwide since its release back in November of last year – but, of course, this is no surprise since it is a Nintendo game.
Due to this success, many gamers are sure to be wondering when, if ever, we’ll see a sequel. Unfortunately, it seems that, at this time, there is no such thing planned. Producer Kensuke Tanaber recently sat down with Game Informer to talk the sequel. When asked about said sequel he responded:
“I wasn’t even thinking about doing a sequel for Metroid Prime until Retro showed me the last scene in the game, which was near the end of development. I wouldn’t say we won’t do a sequel, but we don’t have anything planned at this time.”
Before you get too upset, make note that just because they don’t have anything currently planned does not mean we won’t be seeing a Donkey Kong Country Returns sequel. Seeing how the Nintendo 3DS is just around the corner, I’d say chances are pretty good that we’ll see every one’s favorite ape make the jump to the eye popping handheld.

Over the years there have been many different first person shooter franchises some leaving more of an impact than others. Call of Duty and Halo are prime examples of FPS franchises that have been around for about a decade and still managing to put up high sales numbers. Medal of Honor, on the other hand, is a similar franchise that’s been around since 1999 and will forever be remembered as an iconic title.
However, released in 2010 came the franchises reboot in the form of, well, Medal of Honor. While this game seemed promising leading up to launch it didn’t make as much of a splash as everyone thought but still managed to maintain positive reception. Due to this positive reception, EA has come forth today to announce that they will in fact be pushing out a sequel to the game.
Unfortunately there has been no official word on exactly what this game will include so we’ll have to keep you posted on that front.

Blizzard is one of the most successful game studios on the market with heavy hitting franchises like Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo each spanning several titles. However, in the MMO world, World of Warcraft is their only offering but i just so happens to be the most successful MMORPG in the world. Luckily, for those who oppose WoW, Blizzard has been known to be going on to make another MMO but details on the project are slim.
Luckily, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime has come forth today to tell us that the new game won’t be like WoW and instead something entirely different. He then goes on to t4ell us that some of the company’s most experienced MMO talent will be working on the title and will incorporate the the lessons they’ve learned over the year’s to make this new title great. He then closes out his statement by saying, “to break the mould, sometimes you have to start over.”
This leads us to believe that not only will this new Blizzard MMO not be a WoW sequel but an entirely new IP. We’ll have to wait and see.

Dead Space fans waiting for a sequel will be happy to hear that EA has just dated the game for a 2011 release. Of course, you’re probably not too happy to hear it considering you have to wait over a year to get your hands on it. Additionally, EA has also told us that Dragon Age 2 (or whatever the sequel is to be called) will also be hitting store shelves sometime in 2011.
But that’s not all as EA has also listed the two sequels as having a future presence on “handheld platforms” which could mean anything from the DS and PSP to the iPhone and iPod touch, or all over the above.
We’ll let you know as more information is made known about the two sequels.

The sequel for the comic book game The Darkness is now under development by Starbreeze Studios, as announced by a Comic-Con panel last weekend. British comic book writer Paul Jenkins will be writing the story for first-person-shooter.
In addition to this news, a Greatest Hits version for the original game has been announced, lowering the price point to a very reasonable $29.99.
No release date has been announced for either the sequel or Greatest Hits.

The second Mass Effect is still undergoing development, but that isn’t stopping BioWare from making plans for a trilogy and beyond. In an interview with GamerZines, BioWare vice president Greg Zeschuk revealed that Mass Effect could be seeing more sequels than originally intended.
“We’ve said Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy,” said Zeshuck, “so you’re going to see at least a third Mass Effect, and even more if everything goes well.”
The Mass Effect universe is a pretty expandable one, so we could be seeing spin-offs and other types of installments to the franchise. At least we know now that the series is here for good.
Mass Effect 2 is slated for a first quarter 2010 release for the PC and Xbox 360.

Speaking with VideoGamer, producer Ryota Niitsuma revealed that Capcom has no plans in bringing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars to the Xbox 360 or PS3. However, a sequel is possible if the game performs well in the western market.
“…the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features,” Niitsuma explained. “So if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.”
Tatsuonoko vs. Capcom has been out in Japan since December, but will be reaching North American shores this winter for the Wii. As for Europe, no release date has been given.

If you hadn’t figured it out yet, there will be a Fable III. Between Peter Molyneux’s fervent love of the series as expressed in every interview along the way, the financial success of a game that almost always guarantees a sequel and the less-than-subtle hint in the downloadable content pack ‘see the future’ you should be aware that Fable III is going to get made.
If you STILL need more proof you’ll just have to check out the New York Times. Skip the business section. No, it’s not under science and technology either. The arts? Nope. It’s under the “weddings/celebrations” section. Joshua Atkins, a Lionhead employee is getting hitched Sunday in San Francisco, presumably so he can then sacrifice his wife at the temple of shadows (kidding). In the announcement it lists Atkins as “ the lead game designer for Fable III, a video game series produced by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, England.”
Whether or not it’s a misprint, you should take it as confirmation that Fable III will happen. It’s inevitable.
In a perfect world there would be a direct correlation between a movies quality and its financial success. Poorly made films would founder and their directors would be run out of town at the end of pitchforks with torches following closely behind. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your feelings) some films garner enough money out of sheer hope or curiousity. How many of us haven’t ever seen a trailer and thought “this looks so bad I just have to see it”. Such is often the case with video game movies. Fans go to see them to find out how much of a mess they made of our beloved plots and characters while others get dragged along or go looking for a good action/horror flick.
If there was that direct relationship between quality and profitability we’d never have seen a video game movie after Mario Bros., but they manage to get enough between tickets and DVD sales, so they struggle on. Despite the disdain of both critics and gamers alike for the Hitman movie it pulled in over $100 million at the box office, so it seems that Agent 47 will be gearing up for another shot at the silver screen. Fox has hired writer Kyle Ward to pen the screenplay for the movie. If you’ve never heard of him, that’s probably not a huge surprise since so far he’s only got one released film to his name, though he did write the screenplay for the upcoming Kane and Lynch film. This early there aren’t any other details, but regardless of whether or not Olyphant will be reprising his role, I doubt Olga Kurylenko will be back as sequels like this generally dump the previous love interest to introduce a new one, although many would be happier if they dumped the romantic subplot altogether as there never was one in the games.
