Back in the beginning of February we notified you of a delay for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter. At that point, we weren’t sure what exactly the release date had been changed to but now we know that it will hit but the PC on April 28th. It’s also slated to hit the Xbox Live Arcade at some point but there’s been no mention of a release date.
If you didn’t know, this is a high definition remake of the game that was released back in February of 2002 by the same name, minus the HD.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter largely due to its price tag, you’re in luck. Coreteam has just announced that a demo for Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter is now available through steam.
The demo will feature a specially deisgned level set in the Karnak stage which Croteam says could take gamers hours to get throguh. Additionally, there is a co-op mode set in the same level with support for up to 16 players.
What do you have to lose? I mean, it is free, after all.

Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, the reboot of the series in HD graphics, has gotten quite a little deal for itself on Steam, where the game now retails for half price — only $7.50. You should strike now, because the deal is only on until March 2. You can check out our review of the game here.

Serious Sam HD offered a brief experience of nostalgia on the PC and Xbox 360, and the second game, The Second Encounter, was scheduled for a release in April, but now developer CroTeam has pushed the release to April. This is presumably both for the PC and Xbox 360 version. While you’re waiting, feel free to check out our review of the first game.

Valve is at it again with their weekend deals and their time they are focusing on Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, discounting it to just $6.79.
For those who don’t know, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter is a remake of Serious Sam: The First Encounter with both updated textures and character models. But honestly Serious Sam carnage in high definition for $7? That’s a no brainer.

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that Serious Sam HD just recently hit Steam on November 24th. Well, hot on the heel’s of the game’s release Croteam has come forth to announce that Serious Sam HD: The Next Encounter (an HD remake of the game with the same title minus HD) is in the works and will hit Steam in early 2010.
According to That Video Game Blog, the game will be released on both the PC and home consoles which means we may see it hit the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, of course.

The original Serious Sam was one of the great, old school shooters, no realism here, just big enemies and bigger guns. And lots of great humor. The HD upgrade of the game, still developed by good ‘ol Croteam, will be released on PC on November 24, for only $20, and if you pre-order it on Steam, you can get it for $18. Great deal if you haven’t played the original. And you should have!

Serious Sam HD developer Developer Digital announced via Twitter that Croteam’s Serious Sam high def re-incarnation has gone gold — however, as fate would have it, that particular tweet has since been removed. Another tweet reveals that you’ll be able to pre-order the digital copy of the game next week. We’ll see if that one sticks on Twitter or not.
Majesco Entertainment has today released the above trailer showcasing Serious Sam HD. Fans of the series will definitely appreciate this trailer as it shows off the beautiful visuals of Serious Sam HD while still staying true to the game play everyone has come to know and love.
