Tony Hawk is without a doubt the biggest name in skateboarding despite being retired for quite some time. However, when it comes to the video game world the Tony Hawk video games haven’t been doing so hot as of late. They lived harmoniously with one another for quite some time before EA came forth to debut their skate video game. Following that Tony Hawk took his video games in another direction with Tony Hawk: Ride which features a skateboard peripheral but unfortunately failed to take off receiving negative reception across the board.
Well, it seems that Hawk isn’t out of the game just yet as rumors have surfaced today that say a new Tony Hawk game is set to hit store shelves next year. News apparently comes from an interview with Tony Hawk who says that his new game will “probably” be out sometime next year. Unfortunately we don’t have any more information

Skate 3 was announced quite a while ago but EA is letting us know something we don’t already know: a demo is on its way. That’s right in just 2 short weeks the Skate 3 demo will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
That’s April 15th, for those of you who have a hard time with math.

We all know that Shaun White is one of, if not the best, snowboarders in the world. But, did you know he possess another athletic ability? No? Well, let me introduce you to Shaun White Skateboarding. This game has just been announced by Ubisoft and, well, I wonder how Tony Hawk is going to react.
The game is set to hit sometime this holiday season and “will provide an innovative twise and fresh take on the skateboarding and action-sports genre”. Honestly though, I don’t know what they could possibly do with a skateboarding game that EA’s Skate hasn’t already mastered. I guess we’ll come to find out later this year.
And, congrats to Shaun White for being filthy rich.

EA has come forth today and given us 10 brand new screen shots showcasing their latest skateboarding title, Skate 3. From the looks of the screenshots, like the one included above, the game will stay true to the gameplay we’ve all come to know and love in Skate 1 and 2 while adding some updated graphics and, hopefully, new tricks.
Skate 3 is due out sometime in May of this year.
Head here for the rest of the screen shots.

Tony Hawk: Ride seemed like an awesome idea, control an onscreen skater with a skateboard deck. Unfortunately the idea of the game is about where the awesomeness ends as it really failed to deliver. The skateboard deck was unresponsive to the point where the game was damn near unplayable and it wasn’t exactly eye candy.
However, the game’s not-so-successful launch hasn’t put a damper on Tony Hawk’s drive as he’s already talking with Robomodo about the next game. Below is a tweet from Tony Hawk that let us in on the information:
“Just met with @robomodo about our next project and it’s already much better than I expected”
If you’ve been paying attention, Tony Hawk was pretty optimistic about the first game as well. Let’s hope Mr. Hawk and Robomodo give us something we can actually play this time around.

If you didn’t know, Tony Hawk Ride hit store shelves just about a week ago with little to no media coverage (probably considering the fact that it wasn’t, well, very good). The title’s biggest selling point is the skateboard peripheral that it uses exclusively but the fact that the board only works with one game had gamers a bit unsure as to whether or not they will purchase it.
Luckily, Mr. Hawk himself has come forth today in an interview with GameSpot UK to let us know that not only is a sequel to the game in the works, but that the board will be utilized for future surfing and snowboarding titles.
There’s no telling on when these new titles will be hitting the shelves but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more information is made known.

Seemingly out of no where Nintendo has come forth to let us know of the Wii Fit Plus, essentially an expanded edition of the original Wii Fit title that hit store shelves in May of 2008.
Wii Fit Plus will feature 20+ new mini games for you to choose from such as Segway and skateboard riding. This expanded title also features many more customization options for the various workouts.
If you already have the Wii Fit you don’t have to go out and but the one bundled with a balance board for $99.99, instead you can opt for just the WiiFit Plus title alone for $19.99.

EA has recently released word that the next DLC pack for their popular skateboarding game, Skate 2, will feature the Maloof Money Cup and be made available on July 9th for 240 Microsoft Points/$3.00.
The DLC pack will feature the both the park and competition guidelines featured at last year’s Maloof Money Cup:
“Skate 2 has been embraced by the gaming and skateboarding community across the globe, making it the perfect stage for the Maloof Money Cup’s videogame debut,” said Joe Maloof, President of Maloof Companies. “Now players everywhere can experience the world’s greatest skateboarding championship and revel in the high-stakes excitement of the competition for themselves.”

Here is an announcement that probably won’t apply to the majority of you, but for those whom it does concern Robomodo has recently announced that the controller for Tony Hawk Ride will allow for use by gamers 300 pounds and under. Anything over 300 pounds and the controller will presumably turn to dust.
Then again, just as Joystiq points out, if you are over 300 pounds playing Tony Hawk Ride is probably the least of your concerns.
Robomodo’s Tony Hawk Ride is expected to hit store shelves sometime in the fall of this year for around $120 bundled with the skateboard controller.

Thanks to GameStop we now know that the latest addition to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, Tony Hawk: Ride, will be hitting store shelves on October 13th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii.
Furthermore, the game will come bundled with the skateboard peripheral that everyone has been talking with a price point of $119.99.
Of course, this date is subject to change as GameStop has a tendancy to do that but when Tony Hawk: Ride does drop the skateboard genre will never be the same. That is, if the developers deliver because EA’s skate is sure to put up a fight to the grave.
