Japanese studio Level 5, developers of the Professor Layton series, have teamed up with Japanese animation giant Studio Ghibli to create Ninokuni (Another World), an unique adventure game.
Announced for the DS, the adventure game will come with a “Magic Master” book. The book will also be an in-game item, carrying magic crests, spell recipes and the like. The player will be required to refer to the physical book while playing the game. Exact details of how it will work were not given.
Studio Ghibli will provide animations for the game. They are responsible Japanese animation classics such as “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Princess Mononoke”.
It was additionally revealed that the game will come to consoles at a later date, though no platforms were named.
