With the massive success of The Beatles: Rock Band it’s no surprise that Harmonix is expanding with other popular bands. The latest of such bands is the Grammy Award Winning Green Day with Rock Band: Green Day. Just like The Beatles version, Rock Band: Green Day will feature likeliness of the band and a bunch of iconic Green Day locations and will drop on June 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii for $59.99, $59.99 and $49.99, respectively.
Additionally, MTV Games and Harmonix let us know that all of the tracks found in Rock Band: Green Day will be exportable to Rock Band 1, 2 and presuambly 3 which was just recently announced.
When a developer makes a limited edition version of their game it is assumed that that means there will be no more made after the initial batch and this holds true with the limited edition version of The Beatles: Rock Band. Taking this into consideration, it is best that you hurry up and buy the $249 bundle (which comes with Ringo Starr drums and a Paul McCartney bass) as Viacom’s CEO, Phillip Dauman, has recently told GI.biz that he expects the Limited Edition to completely sell out by November.
This assumption was made after the company realized that 25% of their entire stock of the limited edition was exhausted in its first week on store shelves.
There’s really no telling if these will sell out sooner or later than Mr. Dauman’s prediction so it is probably a good idea to go out and buy it as soon as possible.
Despite the title, you do have a chance to own the beautifully customized Beatles: Rock Band Xbox 360 showcases above, but the chances are slim, unless you’re willing to part with a couple bucks of course.
The best chances you have of securing yourself the Xbox 360 is by bidding on it via an auction set up by Microsoft over at eBay. Of course, the bid is currently at $3,100 with 9 days remaining. The second option you have, is to download the 360 exclusive Rock Band song, ‘All You Need is Love’ and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for one of the consoles, obviously giving you less of a chance of winning.
According to the eBay Auction, all proceeds will be donated to the Doctors Without Borders USA charity. Sure, you’re paying a ridiculous price for an Xbox 360 but at least you’re doing it for a good cause.
A second trailer for the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band has hit the web. The trailer doesn’t give much except for music, which is the main reason anyone would want to buy the game. A good few tracks are demonstrated, along with members of the band in Rock Band art style.
I am impressed with how they recreated some of the music videos. But I think I would rather have the actual video playing in the background instead of some 3D models.
The Beatles: Rock Band is scheduled for an international release on September 9th for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii systems.
Harmonix, EA and MTV Games are proud to announce the release of the above trailer showcasing none other than The Beatles: Rock Band which originally aired during E3.
But that’s not all, they have also shown off the next Beatles branded peripheral, a Ludwig drumset with a picture included after the break.

It was recently announced by both MTV Games and Harmonix that The Beatles: RockBand will in fact be getting two custom made guitar controllers to coincide with the games launch.
Modeled after the RickenBacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet which were played by members of The Beatles, these two controllers will sell for $100 a piece and be available when the game is.
Furthermore, you can pre-order the game now and get access to the “The Beatles: RockBand Pre-Order club” and get access to “breaking news and access to exclusive game elements including art and behind-the-scenes footage prior to the game’s release”.
Rabid fans of The Beatles have been waiting for a glimpse of the upcoming Rock Band game, but so far they’ve been denied of the pleasure to do so. However, Paul McCartney’s performance at Coachella this past Friday was the first to debut in-game footage from The Beatles: Rock Band.
"It was a night of firsts and was the unexpected, unannounced world premiere of the images from the coming Beatle Rock Band game which played on vast screens throughout Got To Get You Into My Life," reads McCartney’s website.
Jump over to 1:30 in the video below for the first look at the game, which is due out on September 9 on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Making the game that much sweeter, Dhani Harrison, son of Beatle George Harrison, revealed that the upcoming Beatles-themed Rock Bandgame will feature never-before released material from the legendary band.
He adds that they have been working on the game for the past two years and that it is going to be “totally, historically accurate.”
