The King of Fighters XII
hasn’t even hit store shelves globally yet and already reports are coming in that the game’s online feature is experiencing things such as lag.

Well, it looks like the developers have taken note and are planning on releasing a patch to address such issues:

“While not all players experienced these issues, an update for the game will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28th for the PlayStation 3 which should help improve the overall quality and stability of online play for everyone.”

Kotaku reports that the Xbox 360 version will be getting a similar patch at an unannounced date.

The official launch trailer for The King of Fighters XII has been released, straight from Comic-Con. The trailer gives some nice comparisons of the sprite update progression throughout the game’s franchise.

The King of Fighters XII will be hitting stores tomorrow in North America, and August 28th in Europe.

Last month SNK announced that they would be delaying The King of Fighters XII from July 16th to a more vague July release. Well today we have learned via the game’s official twitter account that it will in fact be hitting store shelves for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 28th.

For those who don’t know, in the latest King of Fighters, gamers will be able to choose from a full 22 characters to play through the game with. Furthermore, the game will feature beautifully hand-drawn visuals to make for an all-new experience while staying true to the franchise.
