
Torchlight has been around for quite some time generating positive reviews thanks to its emergence on the PC. However, it’s been known for a bit that the smash hit would be making its way to the Xbox 360 in the form of an Xbox Live Arcade title. For those of you highly anticipating this game, you will be happy to hear that a whole slew of different screenshots showing off the game’s unique are style have hit the scene included above and in the below gallery.
For those of you PS3 owners wondering when you’re going to be able to get your hands on Torchlight, don’t hold your breath. There have been no official word of a PS3 release with the game actually being published by Microsoft themselves. Bummer.
However, those of you with an Xbox 360 can expect to see Torchlight drop sometime in March or April. We’ll keep you posted.

Yesterday we reported that Chinese MMO publisher Perfect World has bought a majority stake in Torchlight developer Runic Games, and now the developer has announced that their Diablo-inspired hack-n slash Torchlight RPG has sold an impressive 500,000 copies, without much of a marketing campaign. The game usually sells for $20, making it a lot easier on the wallet.

Chinese MMO publisher Perfect World has announced that it has acquired a majority stake in Torchlight developer Runic Games, for a rumored $8.4 million. Perfect World has previously worked with Runic, having the exclusive rights to publish the game. Runic is developing a Torchlight based MMO, so it makes a lot of sense that Perfect World is acquiring a stake. The MMO is expected to be released in 2012.

Runic Games have announced today that their action RPG Torchlight will be seeing an October 27th launch date. Co-designers of Diablo and Diablo II, Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer, are said to have worked on the game.
The game is Diablo-esque, but much easier to hop into. Each level of Torchlight is chosen randomly, having new Players will be allowed to create their own content via developer tools, and publish them to fellow gamers.
The game is scheduled for an exclusive PC launch via content distribution services for $19.99.
Formed from the ashes of Hellgate and Mythos developer Flagship is the newly founded studio Runic Games. Today they announced their first project: Torchlight, an action-MMO.
Billed as a simple, action-oriented online PC game in the style of Diablo, the game has players set out on an adventure from the town of Torchlight into nearby mountains.
It is being published worldwide by Chinese online gaming company Perfect World.
