Kalypso Media has recently announced that they will be bringing their Xbox 360 debut title, Tropico 3 to the console in fall of this year. The Tropico series has been around since early 2001 on the PC hasn’t seen a console release until now.

In Tropico 3, players will take control of El Presidente as they shape a tropical community into whatever they desire. Of course, tons of gameplay mechanics are in place that will keep the player guessing what will happen next.

Again, Tropico 3 will hit store shelves for the Xbox 360 after the PC version is released sometime this fall.

tropico3 Time to bust out your dictatorial skills, as developer Haemimont Games is now accepting beta applications from budding Presidentes for a closed test for the Banana republic simulator Tropico 3.

The beta is set to begin July 13. A standard form awaits your response, though you might want to refrain from unleashing your dictatorship on anyone until you get in.

Tropico 3 is set for release in Europe on PC and Xbox 360 this September. No North American publisher has been brave enough to take a flight to the banana republic yet, so Americans will have to wait a bit longer.

On Tiscali Games are some early details on Tropico 3, the upcoming third installment in the revived strategy series.

Word is the game will be set in a historically accurate depiction of the Cold War, having players step into the shoes of a ruthless or benevolent dictator and design his own island. It will feature a “random play” mode and a free mode that lets the player’s dictator engage in activities like sunbathing or gambling in a casino. The game’s engine is currently being designed with such detail that you will be able to zoom in on laundry hanging on a line.

The game was announced back in November and is currently being developed by Bulgarian developer Haemimont Games.

tropico 3 Kalypso Media, who is on a media roll as of late, has announced that it has appointed Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games to develop Tropico 3, the sequel to the Caribbean-themed dictator simulator.

The publisher apparently acquired the rights to the long dormant series from Take-Two and is planning to release the title in Summer 2009.

They note that it will be based on the original Tropico, which was an awesome game, promising advanced graphics, “complex” gameplay and comprehensive multiplayer modes.

I, for one, am truly looking forward to this! Tropico 2 was severely disappointing.
