gametap-logo GameTap, Turner’s popular digital distribution service offering PC games, has been sold to Paris-based Metaboli, an European digital distribution service provider. This comes after Turner announced its intentions to sell the service by taking a $18 million writeoff.

The service will carry on business as usual. Metaboli, after a “transition period” will take direct control of the service sometime next year. There will be no interruption in service.

"The addition of GameTap provides us a foothold in the U.S. market," said Metaboli CEO Pierre Gaudet in a press release.

The service has been a platform for classic games, as well as original games such as American McGee’s Grimm series.
