There are many different video game genres on the market meaning just about anyone will be able to find one for them. Hardcore gamers looking for high paced, intense, nonstop action may look towards the fighting genre to fill their needs. Lucky for them, there is no shortage of fighting titles on the market with big names like Street Fighter and Tekken leading the pack.

In fact, it seems that gamers tend to take either the Tekken or Street Fighter side as both games feature considerably different control schemes while also sharing their own respective pros and cons. But, what if you’re stuck in the middle and just can’t decide which you like better? Well, lucky for you there is a game coming out dubbed Street Fighter X Tekken that combines the best of both games developed under the watchful eye of Capcom.

While we’ve hard of the game in the past not a whole lot has been said regarding what it’s to contain. Luckily, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono has recently taken to Twitter to let us know that there will be rather large announcement regarding Street Fighter X Tekken coming following the US launch of the Nintendo 3DS. Unfortunately we aren’t quite sure as to what exactly the announcement will be regarding but considering we haven’t heard of a solid release date let’s hope it has something to do with that.

And for those wondering (aka living under a rock) the Nintendo 3DS is set to hit store shelves in the United States on March 27th so be sure to stay glued to DigitalBattle shortly after where we’ll be telling you all about the announcement.

If you’ve been following the world of PS3 hacking you may know that there has been a lot of hype surrounding Geohot’s recently released jailbreaking method. This method would allow those with a bit of know how to do things like run unauthorized code and more alarmingly – pirated games. However, Sony was quick to the draw to take infamous hacker Geohot to court and have managed to gain a bit of footway. Although, was recently happened on Twitter is too funny even for Sony executives not to laugh at.

Sony’s Kevin Butler is a fictional character that stars in many of the outfit’s PS3 commercials. Recently, a Twitter user by the name of exiva sent a tweet to Kevin Butler of the PS3 jailbreak code. Not long after, Butler retweeted this tweet containing said code referencing Battle Ship. Quite obviously this was a mistake as the tweet has since been removed but the lasting effects are still in tact which are quite hilarious.

uncharted2twitter

A few weeks ago it was made known that Uncharted 2 would feature the ability to update your Twitter feed when you recieved a Trophy, connected to a multiplayer game and more.

In theory, this sounds like a good idea, but someone following an Uncharted 2 fiend would undoubtedly get ridiculous annoyed. Naughty Dog seems to have taken note of this, issuing the below statement:

“Some reviewers have had early access to the game and selected the option to update their Twitter accounts as they completed each chapter of the game. This has resulted in some Twitter feeds being updated multiple times an hour. We obviously want to provide the best experience for everybody, so for the time being we’ve disabled Twitter updates on chapter completions. The option will still exist in the menus when the game ships on 10/13, but if activated, it will do nothing. Some time after the game has shipped, we’ll release a patch to reactivate the feature, but with a limit on the frequency of updates.”

Now here’s an idea — It was recently discovered that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will feature out of the box Twitter compatibility. No, you won’t be able to manually update your Twitter feed from in the game but instead, if you opt for it, the game will send out periodical tweets showing your followers when you have obtained a new Trophy, completed a single-player mission or even connect to a multiplayer game.

This probably isn’t the most exciting feature out there but for you avid Twitter users who feel the need to keep the world updated of your every action, this may be a god send.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will hit store shelves exclusively for the Playstation 3 on October 13th, 2009.

Speaking at an event, Microsoft marketing employee James Halton said that the company was aiming for a Fall debut of Facebook and Twitter integration for the Xbox 360.

“It will be before Christmas,” Halton said. “A lot of the background work’s been done for a lot of applications that are coming.”

The recent preview of the Xbox Live dashboard was missing these upcoming social networking tools, so we don’t know exactly how they’ll work with the user interface just yet. As previously mentioned, these tools will not be included in the August 11th update.

It seems that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will take a gameplay element from Battlefield 1943 namely, the weapons.

Yes, according to the official Battlefield 1943 twitter, you will in fact be able to use the weapons featured in said game in EA‘s upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Below is said tweet:

Think you’re a Bad Ass with BF1943 weapons? What if I said you’ll be able to use your Semi-Auto Rifle, Sniper Rifle, or SMG in BFBC2!

I don’t know exactly who will opt for Battlefield 1943 weapons over Bad Company 2‘s but at least it’s a cool feature to have, right?

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in Q1 of next year.
