The Writer’s Guild of America, a union serving screenwriters, game writers, and doing occasional strikes, has announced the 2010 game writing nominations. Which are, drum rolls…
* Assassin’s Creed 2
* Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
* Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
* Wet
* X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Yeah, we know, X-Men Origins is in there? So is Modern Warfare 2? Anyways, we’ll know the winners on February 20.
The Writers Guild of America has released its nominations for the best-written videogames of 2008, and the nominees are rather interesting. Three of the games highly deserve their nominations (in my humble opinion): Fallout 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Tomb Raider: Underworld, but the inclusion of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 and Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble are mindboggling.
It can be noted that only games penned by writers that belong to the WGA were eligible to be nominated. Hence, I believe, the odd list.
