
Ever since the Wii was called the Nintendo Revolution we’ve known that Nintendo has been cookin’ up some colored consoles but have yet to see any in the United States. Luckily, CVG recently got in touch with various US retailers that have said a black Wii console will arrive in the United States next month.
News comes from Frys who tells our source that the console will arrive at the $199 price point complete with black Wiimote, Nunchuck, MotionPlus in addition to Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.
Anyone holding out until one of these hits stores?
Since we’ve discussed why the PS3 is foundering it’s only fair we point out what the Wii has been doing well.

10. Brand Loyalty.
When it comes to video game companies, Nintendo boasts an incredible amount of longevity. Their first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System almost singlehandedly made home gaming popular and they’ve been going strong ever since. People have been buying Nintendo products for years. Sony hasn’t been in the games industry for quite as long and Microsoft is a relative newcomer to the console game.

It’s (almost) official, Wii Sports if the best selling game of all time. Even better then Pokemon, Tetris and Super Mario Bros. But why?
Well, other than it’s obvious attraction to all ages, you have to take into account that it is bundleded with the Wii console itself, and has been since it’s hit the market. Hell, I don’t even know if they sell Wii Sports seperately.
Either or, Nintendo did a good job, and stories like this continue to prove it. It just makes me wonder, what will their next console be like?
